This was mentioned about a month ago and there was no reply. Is there anybody out there running a cooler thermostat? If so where did you get it from and how much was it. Thanks in advance.

Chris

hey Chris, You might get a little better performance out of it with the cooler thermo and a chip but it will hurt the mileage. Might nto be a problem for you but the engine runs a little cooler and the mixture is a little more on the rich side. I tried one for a while. Worked great with the Jett Chip but did not get as good of mileage...Might be becasue I stuck my foot in it a little more. Hope that helps. later...clint

It might mess up your smog system too. If you run too rich, it will erode the catalytic convertor.

hey Chris, Not a 100% but i think I ordered it from 4 Wheel Drive Hardware. The part number (I think) is 10170. If I remember right that was a 180 Jet Thermostat. You did not say but if you have not changed the muffler yet... The Flowmaster made the biggest difference after the Chip. It takes a coulpe of days for the computer to set itself but after that it did run a lot better.

if you change the thermo and the muffler...disco the battery for 5 minutes or so so that the computer will reset. I am also most sure that is the right opart number...keep in mind I do a lot of work an a lot of jeeps and have all kinds of parts.

Also a lot of part numbers floating around in my head. Some times I get them ALL MIXED up...later...Clint

Clint, did you actually have good luck with the Jet chip? It made mine run .5:1 richer, and it lost 5 peak hp on the dyno. I tried to send them the dyno charts and chip so they could fix it, but they just said I must have bought a defective chip off Ebay, even though I told them I bought it brand new. They told me I should read a thread on some Dodge truck forum and base my satisfaction from that instead of my real dyno numbers, and my own seat of the pants dyno, with a Jeep Liberty and a 3.7. My B&G aggressive flash puts the Jet chip to shame, and B&G's people have been great to work with.
