I know the front tires can be aligned.. but if I remember correctly the rear wheels are not adjustable?
Just curious since they want to charge me $49.99 for a "rear wheel alignment"

They are trying to rip you off. The rear doesn't need nor can be aligned.

Make sure they top off your blinker fluid and check your muffler bearings too.

Either they don't know the KJ or they are scamming you.

No possible adjustments on the rear. Sounds like they are trying to take your money.

Is this the dealer that's telling you this? Or just some shop?

Did YOU request a rear wheel alignment or say I need a full alignment or something else to that nature when you went in?

This is at Town Fair Tire, a New England Tire chain

They asked if I want a rear wheel tire alignment... I asked what that entailes, they said it lines up the rear wheels with the
front ones and so on.. I said I was pretty sure that the KJ was not adjustable in the rear...

No worries though, I have not had my tires put on yet, thats going to happen hopefully today at 3, so I am not going to let them touch the rear wheels..

And I am so glad some one reminded me to top off my blinker fluid... :-)r

Hey, it is a good idea to get the rear of the car checked, even though it isnt adjustable. By putting on a set of Wheel Alignment heads and getting the readings, you can work out how much "Setback" the car has, hence then be able to adjust the front accordingly. Setback is a major factor that is overlooked by many wheel alignment specialists and it cirtainly causes the car to pull to one side or another.

And yes, if they did that, they would charge you the full 49.99 for a "Rear Wheel Alignment".

Cool!! thanks for the tip.
I will ask them if they do infact check the Setback. If that draws a blank face, I will ask them to skip it.

Thanks. Fortunately I used to work for a well known Suspension company here in Australia, Fulcrum Suspension (check out the website, its pretty cool), but Unfortunately there are a few miss-informed people on this forum (like all forums I guess :( )
