How ridiculous is this? I saw this very vehicle on the road a few days ago in Indianapolis. When I Googled "FJ spike skid plate" this is what I found. Somebody had a camera phone at the right time.

It's sad that someone came up with a design for such a thing...but even more sad that someone bought it.

My guess is that it is some kind of "stick on" plastic piece that glues onto the front facia. If they are real metal spikes, I hope I'm never run over by one. Ouch.

Well isn't that just the stupidest thing I ever did see. It's amazing what people will waste their money on.

I hope I bump into this guy again. Hopefully it's some silly Halloween thing. I want to ask him about it. Otherwise he's got a nice looking FJ Cruiser. (I'm fond of silver, BTW.)

I'd like to see him off-road with it and see how long that plate lasts and how much damage it would do as it gets ripped from the FJ.

Maybe he's in the eyewear store and will come and realize what he spent his money on? Poor guy. Maybe it was a dare?
