Work in progress. I've owned this for 21 years.

I have a 302ci with a C4 sitting and waiting.

But I also have a house that seams to always know when I get a few bucks saved.

Dang lot of HP for a little CJ2!! I would put a 4 banger in that puppy. How about a little diesel engine...out of what I have no idea but sure would/could be sweet!

If I had a CJ2A I would put a diesel in it for sure. A 1.9 VW TDI would be sweet, but if you wanted to keep it simple..fewer electronics etc. And cheaper, you could find a small Isuzu diesel, they are used in all sorts of small construction equipment and would work well in the CJ.

Ahhh, a man after my own heart.

I have a '47 CJ2a as well. Had it since I was a 17 year old kid. It has a 4.3 Chevy in it and lotsa mods.

I've got a 2A as well, but I'm keeping the stock 134 in mine. Looks like a nice project. Pretty cool that you've owned it that long.

My stock L-Head cracked real bad and was simply worn out so I opted for surgical options. I had a 151 straight 4 Chevy in it and that was a nice size motor too.
