There was a raffle yesterday at our local Toys for tots after party and one of the items being raffled was a 1984 AMC eagle..... The picture below is NOT it.... but would have been nice to be the winner.... :)
This could have easily been converted to :

I know that rig! Owned by the co-owner of our local 4x4 shop. Wheel with him quite a bit. His latest mod was dropping a V8 in it. He no longer just climbs the hills out at the park, he jumps them! Right now, the eagle is sitting in front of their shop wrapped in about 2000 Christmas lights, though.

My senior year of high school, my grandfather gave me a black Eagle -- I think it was an '82. Nothing fancy but it ran, and the 4WD worked. It died a violent death one frigid night in January when the throttle stuck. My step-dad thought he could drive the car home for me. I had just clocked out from my job at K-mart. I remember seeing my Eagle spinning all over the snowy parking lot like a Penny Racer, belching black smoke. My step-dad got it about 200 yards down the road before the engine seized. I couldn't afford a new or rebuilt engine, so I sold it to an Amish guy for $300.

Winter buggy. whole lot warmer when you're being drawn by horses in the winter if you're enclosed:D

my buddy in high school had an AMC Eagle wagon that didn't run. we had a spare 304 and we considered using it, but too many other projects got in the way
