well a few months ago me and my friend received a 1981 chevy scottsdale, for free. This project has been named "Blue Goose"

Its has a 305 V8 with electronic spark control and a holley 4 barrel.

So far we have changed all the fluids, all the seals, new plugs/wires, new cap and rotor.

new water pump, new brakes front and rear. cut out all rusted metal in floor and riveted/welded in new metal where bondo used to exist.

here is how we got it.

Got about 50 miles from home and this happened...

Then we started tearing the interior apart.

Then it was on to exterior work.

I have an 81 c1500, and i wish it was a K series, the 305 is a great motor, but a 572 crate would be even better

haha, preaching to the choir man! I'm not a fan of the engine, but its a budget truck, so thats kinda out of our price range, haha.

Donations welcome!

Nice freebie. I always liked the 73-87 body style the best. Too bad they were so proned to rusted rockers and cab corners. I had an 87 K5, pulled that 305 and dropped a warmed over 350 in it, made a world of difference.
Since you're keeping the 305, new intake, carb, and exhaust will wake it up a bit, the new gears will help also.
"blue Goose", but now it's green? You boys been sniffing the paint thinner? HAHAHAHA

This was my 79 K10 Z71. 350 built motor, semi-truck exhaust stacks tucked under the bed, new diff covers, gears, captain's chairs from a full size GMC van, lots of lift, wheels, tires, new black cherry paint, fresh everything, auto converted to 3spd manual with Low, and 4wd of course. I could sink this thing's rear end down to the bumper in sand, get out, lock the front axle, and pull out like it was nothing. Ahhhhh, memories.

Image :D

It's best ever accomplishment was pulling (dragging, really) out a conversion van from a ditch, with both of the van's rear tires being dead flat.

Of course, it also got about 8mpg, and even with dual tanks, that didn't last long.
