no problem. Let me know if you have any questions about the ridiculously long process of getting one, I'm in that waiting stage.

also www.steelsoldiers.com has a great deal of info on all military trucks.

looks like it would be one sweet project for the far future  How long have you been waiting?

Well the process is a fairly long one, but not too difficult. there is an entire section over at the steel soldiers website on it.

1. set up bidding account using your physical address and home telephone number. This is then cross referenced before your account is open for bidding.
2. find a lot you are interested in, and schedule an appointment to view lot, this is optional, but recommended. I did not do this. The descriptions are usually accurate, but very sparse.
3. bid on lot, if you win lot you will be awarded that lot on the next day. this is when the fun starts.
4. Submit EUC (end use certificate) this is easily filled out and discloses information on your plans for vehicle. this is sent in along with a signed letter of export (weather you plan to or not) to the GL website along with a color picture of drivers license. This will be approved by GL then sent to the Fed's for further investigation, and final approval. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A PAID-IN-FULL INVOICE, WHICH IS REQUIRED TO GET LOT, UNTIL YOUR EUC IS APPROVED.
5. you have received your paid in full invoice, and now must schedule appointment to pick up lot. Vehicles are not allowed to be driven off the base. you have 14 days after reception of invoice to pickup lot before it is considered abandoned and relotted for resale.
6. you have the vehicle! now you must verify info on vehicle to get title, then file for a SF97 form. it costs 60 bucks to apply. Once you receive the title, you get insurance then go to the DMV to register it.
7. you are ready to go! I did leave out a few exacting details, but this is how it pertains to my situation.

there have been good and bad experiences had by others from GL. but so far this one has been good.

we will see here in a few weeks if i have the same opinion.

congrats! it looks nice, Im currently looking for a second Jeep I found an old 3/4 ton that Im hoping to snag for just a couple hundred and its sitting purdy on 36's

so what do you have planned for it?

I plan to keep it somewhat original, I dont want to bob it. It will probably be kind of a tribute to the military, and I've always wanted one.

BUT I do plan to convert to singles in the rear, lift some, and add 54's

Just been working on it really and driving it around when i can..

so far i have had the following to fix:

replace freeze plugs
replace oil line from injector pump to block (had to get custom made)
sand and repaint all bows and troop seats
repair gauge cluster electrical issue
change all seals in T-case
24v turn signals
reattach exhaust stack (garage was lower than i thought , oops)

other than that its perfect!

Trust me you will get plenty of attention in this rig. maybe too much..

I was recently going to go pull out a friend in it and was pulled over by 2 Orange Beach PD SUVs, and they proceeded to draw on me and made me step out of the vehicle... well once they asked me where i got it (very condescendingly), and I told them, then showed them all the paper work, tag, registration, ect. they explained that they thought I had stolen theirs... except they didnt check to see if theirs was missing, theirs also had the canvas cover on, and a police light bar, which mine lacks...

needless to say I wasnt entirely happy
