I took these Gladiator Photos at the Philly Auto Show on Feb. 7, 2006.

Its a good looking rig. If the extended cab was a little bigger it would be great. I hope that the CRD in there is s sign of things to come.

I saw the Gladiator at CJ 2005. I like it, but would prefer to not have the "doggy" door on the driver's side or the canvas roof and would like to have a real full size bed. It would be better to have a fully functioning rear suicide door on the driver's side similar to that on the passenger's side. I guess with the canvas roof, Jeep is trying for some Wrangler-esque open feeling, but I don't feel it really works for a pickup truck. I've also never been a big fan of the short beds that vehicle manufacturers are putting on trucks these days. In my opinion, anything less than six feet is pointless for a pickup truck. So, to me, the Gladiator is an interesting truck that I would consider, but if Jeep made it more like a real truck, rather than with Chevy Avalanche type features, I would be much more inclined to purchase one.

I just must have that truck. That thing is just too sweet. If they actually make it...it'll be sitting in my driveway. My finacee want's Jeep to make it too, 'cause she'll get the KJ if I buy the Gladitor.

It is indeed sweet. The wife even said we would have to have one if they put it into production.

Jeep was going to put the CRD in the Wrangler in 07 and release the Gladiator (CRD) as well. But now they're waffling and giving CYA BS answers when asked if they're going to do it. Not to get too political, but I think it's because of George W's blatant lack of term "Biodiesel" in his Address. I think there's some cash changing hands and bio is being killed again. Without it as the chosen alternate to all us oil junkies, we won't get the CRD Wrangler and I fear we won't get the Gladiator either. We'll get a worthless attempt at an ehtanol truck in...ohhh...about 10 years.

Lobbying should be illegal.

I seriously hope that no one tries to push alcohol as an alternative to oil. I'm personally terrified of using any type of alcohol as a source of fuel simply because I've seen first hand how flamable it is and that you often cannot even see that it's burning. It burns very hot and can very easily be a killer. I know that oil is very flamable as well, but not in the same way.

I think that the real deal is that the tree huggers got the legislature to increase the pollution requirements for the Diesels. Just as the fuel was getting cleaner and it would have been easier for the car manufacturers to meet the requirements the feds went and made it harder.

I love the look of the gladiator!! I hope they offer it in MULTIPLE configurations like most other trucks. Those ones (Avalanche et al) that try to do everything at once are annoying. For me, more bed/less cab is the way to go. Those 4 door full bed trucks are just WAAAAYYYY too long. I love how manuverable a nice small truck is!

Although I love the Gladiator, if given the choice I would rather see them make the Rescue.

more flamable than gas? no, and it burns cooler too. not quite diesel but nothing to fear. it'll be a long long time (if ever) before they add more than 10-30% alcohol to gas. too much ^ lobbying ^ from the richest companies in the world.

I LOVE the Rescue too! But I think I have better chance of affording the Gladitor. So I'm still rooting for that!!
