No. Back in '04. Still feels like it was yesterday though.

I was looking through some old pics and found a bunch so I thought I'd share them.

Specs:
1971 Bronco Sport
302 V8 with '91 Crown Vic Fuel Injection, c4 Transmission
5.5" lift, Dual shocks all around
American Racing wheels with 35" Bf Goodrich AT's
Recaro Seats
Tuffy Console
Dual Glasspacks
Airhorn

I could burn rubber in 4 wheel drive on all corners. :D

I know how it feels when your love leaves that emptyness - my 89 xj cot fire (electrical) and everything inside went too, even the valve cover melted from the heat, Its up there in "Jeep Heaven" now. Thats was 3 years ago. You just have to move on and go buy another Jeep.

I think it was the computer. At least that's the area the firefighters went at with axes when they lifted the hood. :( I had a fire extinguisher and tried to put it out and the firefighters had trouble keeping it out but it kept restarting so definitely electrical.

I had pulled up to a stop light right before an entrance to the Mass Pike and a woman next to me said, "there's smoke coming out from under your hood." Within 30 seconds there were flames shooting 20 feet up from the grill and hood. Luckily, the top was off so my roommate in the back could just jump out and my girlfriend and I got out quickly.

Funny side story, at one point the starter kicked on and the truck was trying to start. I ran towards it because I thought I left my keys in the ignition. When I realized my keys were in my pocket, I quickly ran the other way. I thought it was either going to explode or start, slip into gear, and go speeding onto the highway in flames.

The EBs are one of my favorite vehicles of all times
Had 3 that went from stock to ,...well way out of cotraol
would have another one if most did not think each one was worth double what they really are
This is the last one I bought, bought it from the original owner, had AC/snow plow etc.
This is right after I bought it and cut out the rear fenders and threw some old wheels I had sitting in the garage on, after that was lift, etc rolled it about two years later :( Never do burnout across ice on the road at 45 mph )

That's a beauty. I also had a 74 (can't find any pics). It wasn't nearly as nice as the 71 I had though. Did you have a roll bar in there when you flipped it?

Nope had the roll bar out of it then
had started to tear it down in the winter but the XJ developed a problem so pulled the EB back out to run for a couple of weeks and it happened
Oh well sold it for double what I paid for it and kept the snow plow and a bunch of extra parts the guy gave me.

That is kind of funny. Sorry to hear about the loss. I see a couple of them running around here in Vegas in mint condition. I always stop and check them out when I do see them.
