Yes, jet another lift-kit topic. I am very interested to hear what kind you've got and where did you buy it and for how much?

Since most of us probably drive a CRD this should be quite handy for the next guy that wants a lift.

We would much appreciate if you would share your experiences with installing and how you like the ride!

To start things of, I got these ( well, it's on its way from the US ):

What: Daystar KJ09123BK 1,5" front / 2" rear poly spacer lift. That's 40mm front / 50mm rear.
Bought where: Ebay.com
For: $187 shipping included / 129€

i got daysatar lift kit of 2 inches,if i was to do again,would get the springs,would be easier to fit

I guess you get what you pay for, springs are 5x the price I paid....but does the daystar make the ride stiffer?

it will stiffen the ride,i was looking to get back some of hight i lost with weight of ARB and i get it back and more
reason i said springs is ,it would cost same price as what daystar lif kit did and be a little easier to fit,over all i guess not much in difference.

well that's good to know, ow boy if I just had mine fitted already...still, frankie lift will set you back at least 1000 euros with shipping so....my wife will have my cojones in a slow closing vice if I ordered that..

i talked to fe guys who have frankie lift and said could do better for cheaper

You mean your Daystar, so everybody gets things straight. Maybe if we ordered 10 frankie lifts at once we could get a good discount? There's almost no market anymore for the CRD lift in the US...so who knows. We need to talk to Heather.

A group buy on frankenlift's sounds like a good idea ,there's a lot more crd's over in europe ,a virtually untapped market due to the shipping costs . And tony if your wife removes your cojones you could use them as bump stops on your new lift.

Let's first get some more Euro KJ people on this forum, then we can always discuss this further. For now it's just us three of which 2 already have a lift...

I did see the Old Man Emu suspension on a KJ today and it looks realy good.....(EDIT:See the pics section/ Barcelona KJ meeting)

But I'd prefer to use something else as bump stop :)

I have been thinking of an OME lift as well but there's just too little money in the bank at the moment to allow for such a huge investment ;)

I've got a 2.5 daystar on a 2002 2.5 crd. Been on for 35000 miles. No problems and I go offroad. Good bang for your buck as our American cousins would say!

How is legislation in your countries lads?

In Denmark we need at least a TÜW approval for making the car road legal. We must pass inspections every 2 years, and if I buy something which is not TÜW approved I can end up having to remove the lift once every 2 years. Obviously this is not what I want.

OME has a TÜW on their kit, and there is a trailmaster kit as well (nearly half the price of the OME) with TÜW.

So in terms of suckage Denmark grabs 1st prize!

We have an Mot check every year after the car is over 3 yrs old , they check emissions ,all bearings ,ball joints ,structure for rust ,lighting ect, plus much more ,but dont seem to bothered by mods as long as it passes the emission test ,they dont seem to have been told to look out for mods like lifts ,new metal bumpers ect.My best friend has an Mot station so if i have any questions he always advises me .But i think the mot is a good idea as it's our responsibilty to have safe road worthy vehicles .After having spent a lot of my spare time at his garage ive seen many under 3 yr old cars in a seriously un- road worthy state.

Uffe: don't forget Spain....

We need to get our car inspected by an 'engineer' after every change you make on it. Which will cost you up to 300€...

Than if they approve they add a line to your owners license saying it's OK to have the mod........ :cry:

We get TÜW as you call it or TUV in Germany or MOT in UK or ITV in Spain....it's a European thing I think, every 2 years or yearly vehicle safety inspection.

I have mine valid until 10-'09 so I'm good for the time being. If you get a coil lift they probably won't notice since it looks OEM!

I've got the part numbers for the Old Man EMU heavy duty ( CRD ) coil lift, maybe some supplier in your country can get them:

Coils (don't we call those springs?):

Front Ome H/D 927
Rear Ome H/D 948

Shocks:

Front Ome NS 131
Rear Ome NS 132 if you want the 'L' (longer edition) you need to order them from boulderbars.com.

And then you're KJ will stand this high:

same in ireland but mine being commerical cherokee its called doe and check same as yours and they call it 300 point check
