Post subject:  No Jeep content - meeting in Luxembourg

Here are some pics of previous meetings I have organized with help of some friends so you can see what the region looks like. I put them apart so not to clutter up other posts.
If someone thinks this is off-topic please tell me and I'll remove them.
So most pics show Land Rovers but you can cover them easily with a post-it sticker :-)

The pics might give the wrong impression. Most all of the tracks are very easy, you have to search and KNOW where the obstacles are. Except on the ground at Bertrix but there you can choose your difficulty. Never had to tow someone back from there.

Looks very good! I might get a snorkel on first though :D And I would do those heavy tracks, looks like a lot of fun!

Keltick, don't worry, I'll bring my tools.

how long time wise is rosscof to cherbourg
cork to rosscoff is 12 hrs on ferry,, brittany ferries is shortest on this route
rosslare to cherbourg is 17 hrs on ferry,, irish ferries shortest on this route
if 5 hours driving ,then cherbourg is better, but doesnt look it

Cherbourg - Le Havre - Amiens - Saint Quentin - Reims - Verdun- Luxembourg
727 km, 7hours 36 minutes, check http://maps.google.com/
You avoid Paris which is always a good idea, almost all the way empty motorways. Last stretch nice, fast road through hills and forests. My choice every time I drive to the Bretagne.

Or the Wexford-Fishguard ferry, drive through UK, then the Calais.Dover ferry. Same distance but 4 hours less.
Calais - Lille - Mons - Namur - Luxembourg
415 km, 3hours 45 minutes

Ow wow, we could do a visit to Verdun, been there many years ago, very impressive. If you're into history a little :D

Verdun was on one of the planned day trips anyway. Fine, rolling tracks up to the hills of Verdun, a visit to one of the largest fortresses, an abondoned village with the memorial of Douaumont and finally the city of Verdun today. Back on the road as everybody is supposed to be sleepy by then.
