We need to make out a fixed date for this so I can look further into accomodations, sponsorship etc. Place: Luxembourg, Europe So let's see... Iself can only offer those dates as we will go on holidays ourselves end August to mid-september and my wife will kill me if I stay at home for organizing a meeting. There will of course be the option of joyning only for a weekend. In that case choose the week accordingly. |

Hi Tony, Just add a comment in the mail like you did. I think also 28.9 to 5.9. would be the best date but let's see what the others think. |

As long as it is not any of the above dates. Those days are fixed in stone for me. Actually when I am in Bitburg on the above dates, it is only 54.6 kms from you. |

I see. This will be hard. But is there any other way of making a consensus on a date? I'm open to all suggestions and I hope everyone can come. |

Normally the ferries get cheaper once the holidays are over. So the price drops around mid-August on the UK-Continent ferry. There are ALWAYS reduced prices, you just have to search a bit. Will help later once we get a date most can come. Alain |

Great. So I tried to make already some parts of the program: Daytrip: Roadbook over small roads and some easy tracks through the northern part of Luxembourg (Hills, Valleys, forests). Everyone gets a roadbook and can drive at his own speed. Daytrip: Roadbook through the vast forests in Belgium, over small roads and some easy tracks, in the afternoon the 4x4 terrain of Bertrix where everyone will find his challenge if he wishes so. 2 days: Roads and easy tracks to Verdun. Visit of a large fortification of WW I, the impressive killing fields, later the city of Verdun. In the evening stay at a hostel on a dedicated 4x4 ground where everyone can play as he likes in the next morning. After noon drive back with a visit of the monastery of Orval (famous for beer brewing and homemade bread and cheese) 2 days: Trip to Alsace. Start morning, be there before 12, eating, visit of ship lift where big ships are lifted on top of hills, driving over the panorama high road and some easy tracks, great landscape. Stay in the evening in a small wine grower village, either camping or hotel (not expensive). Next morning visit of the Schlumpf oldtimer collection in Mulhouse or the national railway museum (only a mile apart). Easy drive back. So if anyone wishes to ask or make comments, feel free to do so. Alain |
