Diesel £1.17
Petrol £1.13

Our diesel has been more expensive than petrol since the war started in Irak, I think it is because the army uses so much of the stuff.

£1.06 A Litre for diesel locally, when there were only a few quirky citroen diesel owners ,taxis ,and wagons using diesel it was dirt cheap, then when more people saw the benefits of good mpg and cheaper fuel more diesels were sold ,,then the goverment thought ha ha we can tax this lot to death.

Diesel prices in Denmark has for years been lower than petrol. We have a fixed amount of tax on the fuel (not a percentage of the price) and diesel fuel has been taxed more lightly. I fear that is going to change soon too.

Recently we have seen diesel prices and petrol prices come closer and closer to eachother - I fear at some point diesel will be more expensive than petrol and even so much more that it is no longer a good idea to buy a diesel car.

During our last gas hike, Diesel was $4.00 a gallon, Gas "the cheap stuff was around $3.45 a gallon.

I know it's rediculous but for us the US prices are still pretty sweet:

$4 for a gallon. A gallon is 3,78 Ltr. $4 is 2,56€.

That's 0,68€ per Litre..... :D If anybody remembers, that's what it used to cost in 1998.

theres 58 % goverment tax on either fuel in ireland
most diesel engines are bigger here than petrol ones and seem they may be forcing people to go small in engine size even with all new eco taxs brought this year

I believe the 2.5 CRD doesn't like the bio stuff. Has to do with lubrication. There's a big thread on the main forum on this.

I've heard that if you blend the bio-diesel with regular diesel you don't need to worry as much.

Concerning the price on diesel, locally I have been told that the price is higher because 25% of the house-heating in Denmark is done using diesel. They are currently restocking their 250+ gallon tanks (1000 liters) after winter time. They usually do this around the same time, and that boosts the diesel price because of the added demand of 250,000 homes wanting to buy 800 liters of diesel each :D
