On Easter weekend we got the opportunity to do the first prerun of one of the longer roadbook trips.
ATTENTION: IT WILL NOT BE THAT WET. September will probably be bone dry. We just got some heavy rain and a bit of snow which rose the river Meuse a bit.

One of the long tracks...

In the background the fortress of Montmedy (F) which will also be visited

Still too early in the year to have green trees

This is also ON a road.

Again, there will NOT be any water crossing during the meeting, just plain standard tracks.

Finding the road wasn't that hard on the wide picture. From top of the hill you could see the start and the end of the submerged part. And I was pretty sure there were no bends. So we just aimed at a post where we supposed the road run near. Sure got a bit frightened in one place when the left wheels slipped a bit of the road. Water on the road was only half a meter deep but it was windy and you had always the impression to drive in heavy current. The CRD is quite happy in water, not a single miss all day.

For the date: It seems most people favor the week from September 28 to October 5. Does that work for everybody?

Probably not, it's not mine. It's a brand new Rubicon and even his girlfriend may not drive it yet.
But you can drive the same trails. :D

Just spoke ( on the phone :D ) to Kelticknight, we are good to go anywhere in Semptember.

So if you guys can say which days or weekend you can come over we will adjust our date to that... :D We are thinking of staying a week anyway.

21st is a Sunday are you arriving on Sunday or monday 22nd?

Post subject:

I will be there on Sunday, I do not have to take a ferry or the channel tunnel :D

Will put the beers on ice for the you! Heck, I'll bring my portable refrigarator, keep it hooked up on the KJ's rear power outlet so the beer is cold when I arrive!

I will also bring some Spanish treets, dried ham, olives filled with tunafish, fuet (dried salami) and cheese so we have something to snack on.

I'm sure we will have a great time! Anybody into T-bone steaks? I'll bring a bbq just in case...

Jimmy are you coming with Maiya? I'd love to see her and we need to ask redlion to make arrangements at a campsite that also accepts pets!
