Hi

Welcome to the club.

The Euro section might be quiet, but there is plenty of advice and discussion in the technical sections.

8) Hi guys, just happened to be scrolling around the topics and found this Euro Section, which will apply to us for 2010 at least!

We don't even have our Cherokee yet, nor are we moving back home to New Zealand until December at the earliest (both retire at the same time - whoo-hoo), but L.O.S.T seems to be the best place online (even if we are also members of JeepKJ Country, but it's not so tech-orientated) to hang out and pick up all the info we need to decide which spec we buy (well, had already pretty much made that decision, but at least we'll know what possible mechanical defects to look for and what reworks and upgrades should have been done).

I've been living in Italy since 2000, so the CRD is the natural choice after having driven a number of modern turbodiesels and gotten used to the low/mid range torque plus outstanding fuel economy. From what I've read, the 2.8 CRD matches pretty well with the auto trans, both for on and offroad, so we are looking for a 2006 Sport ex UK with around 40,000 miles, preferably red as we both like bright colours, which we'll buy in July or August.

Plan to do a 2.5" lift plus the Renegade roof lights, maybe a Xenon headlight conversion, but the focus will be on the 'trail-rating' so we can become accepted members of the Canterbury Jeep Club.

Currently driving an Alfa MiTo Sport and a Fiat Panda Cross 4x4 (we both work for CNH - the ag equipment part of Fiat Group; CIH & New Holland tractors etc; they've only just given us access to the Chrysler Group vehicles, so unfortunately I won't be able to take a KK as my last 'drive car')

It will be a KJ - probably 2006 Sport - and so far I have been monitoring the UK Jeep dealer listings (but they have mainly Ltd's at low miles, so are asking too much, of course) or carpages.co.uk..........any informed recommendations would be appreciated!!

thanks :JEEPIN:

Hello Euro Jeep Liberty friends. I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD. I had a Hydraulic lock and had to replace the motor. Im trying to decide if I want to tear down the old engine. Have it NDId and see if I can rebuild it. I was wondering if anyone has a parts connection. I went to the local dealer and they looked at me like I had a 3rd eye when I asked about specific internal parts for the CRD. Also, it may not even be worth putting any money into it if the parts to rebuild are ridiculous. Any thoughts or ideas one might have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

depends how much of rebuild your doing, maybe getting a engine from used scrap yard ,as most who sell engine give a short
guarantee, new engine would cost,my mechanic said the best option would be a rebuild
