Hello,

I have made my instrduction, as due in the the main section, but I take this is the section for Europe as a hole, so maybe a bit closer to my requirement and the information I am looking for. My name is Fil (short for Filippo) and I am based in the the UK near Cambridge. It's now nearly one year I have owned my KJ and I am very happy with it, but I need some help and advise to make it better.

This is my baby:http://www.flickr.com/photos/39856255@N03/4414360922/in/photostream/

Hope you can see it, as I am having problems posting from Flickr my avatar.

I am looking for suggetions on:
Tyres I want to fit BFG All Terrain, but do i stick with 235/75R16 or can I fit without problems 245/75R16 and will they rumb against the bodywork?

Lift Kit, any suggetions? I am right hand drive and I want, if I need, a max of 2 to 2.5inc kit and will it affect road handling and comfort (ie will I keep my dentist in business for the rest of his life!!)

Thank you any advise more than welcomed.

Fil

Hi Fil!

Nice snorkel! But wondering why it is on the left side? Got any more pics of that? (under the bonnet too if possible).

For tire size, I think you mean 235/70/16, that is the stock size, and 245/70/16 will fit under an unlifted KJ.

You shouldn't get 245/75/16 untill you have lifted it at least 2".

Most of us use springs made by OME (Old Man Emu). They ride great!

Cheers.

Hi Tony,
I will post more photos of how the snorkel is fitted under the bonnet. My KJ is right hand drive and fitting the snorkel on left hand leave you more room to see in front. Honestly I don't have an answer for you as when I bought the car it was already fitted.
Thank you for your answer on the tyre and lift. I have found a 2.5inc OMU kit (a bit pricy to have fitted) but I think I will get it fittend and I will then go for 245/75 R 16 tyres too. If I understand correctly you have the same on yours?! You don't have any problems with rubbing against wheel arches at full extention travel or full steering lock?
Also I have see you have added a recovery point at the front, where di you get that and who produces it?

Thank you,
Fil :D

Sorry little late reply, I have been very busy...wheelin in the USA.. :-)r

If you need to you can pound the pinchwelds and heat up the inner wheelwells a little so you get no rubbing with +2,5" lift and 245/75/16 tires..it also depends if you put on wheelspacers or get ofsett rims.

Here's how you do it: http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34295

The front hitch is no longer produced for the KJ, some guys are now fabbing them up themselves or using TJ (Wrangler) front hitches.

Hi Tony,
I have finally got round to taking some picture of the snorkel and how it's been fitted. I was aready on the Jeep when i bought it. So I can't tell you why they fitted it like that, but it's on that side because the Jeep is right hand drive, so if it was on the other side it might cause some ubstruction when driving (it nearly didn't pass the MOT over here this year at one station).
