As I'm now on the hunt for a lift can anybody point me at likely vendors of OME and TJM in Euroland please?

Anybody this side of the world have experience of fitting TJM?

Cheers

Hi,

For OME you can contact:

Surrey Jeeps on 01483 200046 this is their Webpage: http://www.surreyoff-road.com

Or OffRoad 24 this is there Webpage: http://www.taubenreuther.com/ they are based I think now in Peterborough(just moved),also stock ARB bumper and other interesting toys for Jeep.

TJM please contact OEC they look to be the main importer into UK.

OEC International
Broadway Road
Kingsteignton Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 3PJ

P: +44 (0) 1626 356555 +44 (0) 1626 356555
F: +44 (0) 1626 356066

Also looks like Mansfield Jeep might be good, I have contacted them, had a lift in but not for CRD, lift for CRD is different than for the petrol engined ones.

Hope this help, there are more around with Jeep parts stock in the UK but mostly for Wrangles and Old Cherockee (ie not the KJ).

Fil.

Thanks

Spoken to OEC already = very helpful, didn't have correct springs in UK but checking on whats in Europe and have suggested worst case would be 8 weeks shipping from Oz.

Just waiting for a follow up email from them.

Cheers

I was thinking of the OME lift a couple of years ago, and this is the quote I got from TBR (http://www.tbruk.com).

The Shocks and Springs should be available in 5-7 days
Front Strut/shock 3-18131 @ £99.99 each
Front Spring 3-0790 @ £ 59.99 each
Rear shock 3-18132 @ £64.99 each
Rear spring 3-0948 @ £59.99 each
Delivery £25

Sadly, I didn't have any spare money, so I never proceeded with the project (I already have an off road toy to play in). When the spings / shocks need replacing, or I have the cash, I will reconsider.

Hi,
got quoted yesterday by Offroad 24 and this was the bill for a full kit of OME for the KJ:

Thank you for your interest in our products.

To supply a suspension uplift for your Chysler Jeep KJ the parts required are:

Front Suspension – Estimated lift 30-40mm. Please note due to varying OE ride heights some KJ models may only achieve a 20mm lift. 51 to 100KGS (maximum weight for OME)

Coil springs £185.66

Struts £340.76 – No top mounting bushes supplied, re use OE bushes.

Rear Suspension – Estimated lift 40mm – Medium weight loading (full passenger load with luggage weight varying from 200KG to 350KG.

Coil springs £185.66

Rear shocks £209.16

Carriage £23.50

Total Cost £944.74

Please note all costs include VAT

I had another quote from Surrey Jeep ealier including fitting at around £ 1200.00....

Any help to reduce the cost would be great as I am looking soonish to change the suspention before all my filling fall out

I am now Jeep-less having handed the KJ back to the dealer (see other thread).

However just to update on where I got to:

Not had a response back from OEC yet - the information they had to had seemed to be out of date anyway as I believe TJM now do struts and shock for the KJ but they werent on the parts list. I'll chase them later today but their inital pricing was around 145 for front springs and the same price for rear.

Response from King Springs:
Thank you for your inquiry. Our European distributor is listed below.

I'm obviously no expert, but from all I've read in my haphazard wanderings across the internet in the last couple of weeks:

OME struts and shocks = very good
OME springs = some of the options arent quite up to the job for the CRD - and quite a few people have complained that they've sagged significantly.

If I can get TJM or King Springs and match them to OME struts/shocks then I'll be happy.

I also mailed CRDStu on the Ausjeepoffroad forums but no response yet.

Cheers
