You can do it that way, but over time from hitting bumps and vibration it will sag back to where it was. Best to use no more than 3/8" of clevis lift too.

Agree with hedslc, i have had a clevis lift on mine over 100k, hasnt moved. You need to torque the bolt correct.

That’s true. Even 1/4” of difference at the spring or clevis translates into 1/2” of lift because of the geometry of the suspension, and you’ll find that after lifting even a small amount your alignment will be off, with too much toe in. Getting an alignment will make your Jeep safer and it will handle better and your tires will last longer.
