Anything is possible. You would most likely have to replace your instrument cluster with one made for a Limited. You may also need to change a wiring harness.

If you find a "LIMITED" cluster with EVIC, you need only to replace it and the fuctions will be present.

To be able to control the EVIC, you need to replace the steering wheel with one that has the two buttons on the face of it that control the EVIC.

There isn't any wiring needed to be added to have these functions working, simply replace the parts with the "upgraded" parts. The same goes for replacing the regular radio with the Navigation/MyGig radio - it is plug and play with only needing the Security Code to activate it (and the GPS antenna if you want that working too).

so if that is the case, is the evic function not a programed feature... from the service cd

NOTE: Certain indicators in this instrument cluster are automatically configured. This feature allows those indicators to be activated or deactivated for compatibility with certain optional equipment. If a problem is noted that involves improper illumination of an indicator, disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. After about five minutes, reconnect the battery negative cable and turn the ignition switch to the ON position. The instrument cluster should automatically relearn the equipment in the vehicle and properly configure the configurable indicators accordingly.

If evic is not a programmed feature, what are the different part numbers for the displays?

The Jeep Cherokee is only available with a new 2.8-litre DOHC 16-valve common-rail turbo diesel engine. With its Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) and rapid throttle response, this engine enables the Cherokee to claim best-in-class torque of 460 Nm (339 lb.-ft.) at 2,000 rpm with the five-speed automatic transmission, and best-in-class towing capacity of up to 2,800 kilograms and a driving range of 450 miles. Maximum power is 130 kW (174 bhp DIN) at 3,800 rpm.
you need the trany also .
The W5A580 debuted in 1995 Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles and is known to be one of the smoothest, most fuel-efficient and cost-effective transmissions in the industry. Its unique three-channel torque converter helps provide an exceptionally smooth ride and shifting, while reducing fuel consumption. A $455 million upgrade project at the Indiana Transmission Plant was started in 2001 and completed in 2003. The 600,000 SF plant was designed to produce around 400,000 of the W5A580 transmissions per year for the North American market. The transmission project was the first joint effort between the company's American and German wings after the Chrysler Corp. and Daimler-Benz merge in 1998
