I jsut finally looked at this and just wondering if you recalculated your torque settings for using all those extensions with each other?

The only time torque need to be recalculated is if the length of the torque wrench is changed. IE adding a cheater pipe or not using the handle... If length is added inline with the socket adapter, torque will stay the same......

I beg to differ, but don't want to argue and don't want to look it up either, so on that note........hows the new and improved lift?

So i was going through the instructions on this and noticed something. One of the front spring photos has ....ER LIB25FS printed on the spring. A quick google found that this is the skyjacker liberty lift spring for kj's. Is jba selling the skyjacker softride coils for the front w bilstein shocks as the "jba 2.5 lift."? Not complaining or anything, but i thought it was weird that i've never heard this before. The rear springs in the kit must be something else because the kj rears would'nt fit a kk.

To be honest, I don't know.

Last I knew, he was selling his kits with eibach springs.

so I see the basic JBA 2.5" kit does not come with A-Arms. What is the benefit of the JBA A-Arms? I know the cons ($400 out of my wallet)...

You can replace the ball joints without buying whole new arms.
They allow you to be within factory alignment spec w/ lift.
They give a little more clearance between the arm and the spring so they don't contact each other upon suspension droop.

Thank you very much Digger! I had no way to save and post the pdf files.
Hopefully they will be of some use.

A couple of things I would have done differently;
In part 1, I would have removed the lower sway bar link bolt instead of the upper, and removing the brake caliper would have made access a little easier.
In part 2, you could remove the sway bar from the axle instead of the upper link bolts. I chose the upper because it was only 2 bolts instead of 4.
Thanks again Digger for posting these for me.
Before & After.

thamks for taking the time, I installed my silver 2.5 today, the instructions from JBA were not great. yours were awesome. ty again. Richie

Your welcome. Glad they came in handy. I recently helped another KA do this lift, and it is a good thing we had the instructions handy since it's been a few years since I did the write up and we needed the torque specs.
I'm not sure why JBA does not send these instructions along with the kit...

Are these instructions compatible with the TM econo lift for the KK?

OK so i've got the rear done, on the front i have two issues and was looking for some help.

1- When removing the front left UCA, the rear bolt is next to impossible to get to because of the steering column, any tips/suggestions?

2- When using a spring compressor i rented for my 2927 springs, when they are in the assembly and compressed i cannot remove the spring compressor hooks...not sure what to do here except brute strength to a solution.

1- it's a bear... you need a very tiny baby arm or a really(REALLY) long extension(I used like a 3 ft long extension) and a swivel socket.

2- you should not be trying to removed the hooks while the spring is compressed. . . once you have the springs over the strut and the top plates secured you will then uncompress the spring and shimmy the compressor tool off the unit.

I hope this info helps

getting ready to install OME and Bilsteins on the CRD. Ordered pucks for bumps on the back a new stock bumps fort the front too. Not certain I got the right ones but the factory are gone at 100k.

Guy I bought from suggested getting new factory plates for the top of the spring, and that they have bushings that wear. No instructions showed buying those plates. Since I don't want to be doing this multiple times, can someone offer advice on these plates. Do you replace strut mounts / top plates when you do this?

The shock mounts are the frame so no. I didn't notice any bushings up top. I'll look after work if no one else chimes in.

Don't have to, some do, I never have on any we did here
For the front bumpstops you use Teraflex ones not stock ones
Are you going with the OME 790 springs ? Hope soplus use OME shocks in front at least with the CRD, last much better. ( 49 gassers and 3 CRDs to date on KJs )

Yes on the front OME 2790/2748 along with Bilstien shocks (139168 and 139175). Shops want almost as much to compress them as they do to install them. Looking to spring compressors now.. The dealership guys mentioned replacing the top plate as they wear out, i could only find strut mount plates online so I wasn't certain what he was talking about. Will get on the teraflex. Thank you !
