Disassemble
1. Remove the lower sway bar end link bolt from the LCA
2. Raise the vehicle with a jack placed under the LCA and place a jack stand on the pinch weld/frame rail being the tire. Leave the jack in a raised position.
3. Remove the wheel.
4. Remove the upper ball joint nut. Next use a large hammer such as a sledge hammer and strike the area highlighted in yellow. This should pop the ball joint loose
5. Remove the brake caliper
6. Remove the lower clevis retaining bolt.
7. Lower the jack
8. Remove upper clevis retaining bolt.
9. using the hammer again, tap the top of the clevis off of the bottom of the strut. Make sure to be aware of the CV boot at all times. DO NOT DAMAGE THE BOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Install
1. Install X number of conduit nuts
2. Install the clevis fork. If the clevis will not slide back on to the bottom of the strut, spread the clevis collar open.
3. Install Upper clevis retaining bolt. Tighten the bolt to 108 N·m (80 ft.lbs.)
4. Raise the LCA to prepare it for install of the lower clevis retaining bolt.
5. Install the clevis bracket lower bolt to the lower control arm. Tighten the bolt to 150 N·m (110 ft.lbs.)
6. Install the nut to the upper ball joint. Tighten the nut to 41 N·m (30 ft.lbs.) plus an additional 90° turn.
7. Install the caliper
8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten the lug nuts to 100 ± 15 ft.lbs.
9. Remove the jack stand
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Install the lower stabilizer link bolt at the lower control arm. Tighten the bolt to 102 N·m (75 ft.lbs.)
