Thanks MtnLuvr. It took a while and was drastically different than the instructions so I figured it would be good to share with others to save them some time.

If you think your's is going to take that kind of beating then you should probably look for a heavier duty aftermarket one because neither of these will probably stand up to that kind of punishment.

Another option that I thought of after installing my skid plate is that you could take the standard support off and add some thick armor plating to it if you are handy with a welder (obviously you wouldn't do this in place :dead: ) and then reinstall it. That would probably be a lot cheaper than $200 and it could possibly be even stronger depending on the plating you added. If you do that, make sure you put some drainage holes in the added armor plating. :JEEPIN:

I want to do this to the fuel tank skid and the oil pan bottom.

Thanks for sharing this OP. :)
I also want to share how we did our install.
We were about to do the strap method, but
after my buddy and I saw all the quick disconnects/ connectors
we ended up dropping the tank instead.
We did the electrical fuel pump connector last, as there was enough
slack in the wiring that we were able to put the tank on the ground.
Note: Make sure tank is almost empty.
You need at least 2 people to do this, prefferably a friend with good upper body strength
to hold the tank while you unbolt the screws. lol :D
