also a little curious about this stuff.

can this winch ( i know its underpowered ) pull or help move a car from a snow drift?

Also,
How would one attach this to my Jeep?

those are like 4 wheeler winches or something. i would skip on those, worthless for a vehicle.

I would also recommend avoiding those small winches. If your Jeep is really buried then these probly won't be able to pull her out anyway. As far as attaching a (real) winch to the KK you would need the Backbone Winch Attachment found here:
http://www.detoursusa.com/kjbackbone.php

I know the website says the kit is not available, but I spoke to Mark at Detours a few weeks ago and he had them in stock. If you do go with the Backbone, then head over to this thread to see how to put it on..

Or.... Just wait for the new group buy bumpers to come out and you'll be able to bolt it right on!

Two rear shocks are necessary for the daystar. Upgrading the front struts would probably give you a better ride but not needed.

front and rear shocks should all be done, ( yes we have shocks in the front not struts) make sure you get the right length for the rear since you'll need longer with the lift.
Full spring lift would also be way better than a spacer lift

Post subject:  Re: Lift/Shocks

yea i just cant afford a full spring lift. i ended up getting the daystar 2in lift and some shocks for the front. I still need to grab some for the rear but ive got a little while until i get it all to gather and in the shop.

What length do i need for the rear?

according to the shop im getting the work done, i do in fact have struts in the front and shocks in the back. Not sure if its a model or year difference between our jeeps but they told me struts.

It's front coilovers or struts.

Struts are these (lower part is connected to the hub)

Coilovers are these:

I know they look alike, but the coilover connects to the lower control arm. And doesn't rotate.

Post subject:  Re: Lift/Shocks

first, i know that this is an old thread, and the answer may already be posted elsewhere, but i'll give it a shot...

Does anyone have part #'s for the Bilstein rear shocks for the 08 Lib? I've got the Daystar lift and Skyjacker shocks still in the box (haven't gotten around to install), and i'd rather have the Bilstein's than the Skyjackers... I've looked at Bilstein's online catalog and can't find ANYTHING for the Liberty...

any help/info is appreciated.

Post subject:  Re: Lift/Shocks

I ordered the 3" leveling kit from rocky road outfitters with upper control arms and longer rear shocks. It's the spacer type. The control arms are in production and it looks like it'll be over three weeks waiting as they didn't realize that they were out of control arms until I ordered mine. Is there a better economy leveling kit for the money? Are their uppers any good? Should I use the upper spacer type or the extended lower part of the strut like JBA sells? Any help would be appreciated. :banghead:
