I put all 3 of 4 skids on my 09. Front to just before the gas tank. Tank already has what seems like a pretty decent protective shell around it so I wanted to protect the front, oil and xfer case. They have come in handy and caused me to get stuck (or at least helped) the next. They took away some ground clearance but KK's have no more clearence then a Honda Accord (just kidding) but it's less then I wished for without going with a lift. I've bangged them pretty hard a few times so nice knowing they are there when I use the KK for what it's best for climbing over curbs for that best parking spot at the mall. Got it hung on some deep snow. Seemed that it settled down on the skidds just inches from good tracking. When I got my daughter to come and pull me out with your 02 KJ Limited, I looked like I pulled a pie pan off the snow bank. I learned alot from all the snow we got here in Mich this year, the KJ is by far more capable in the snow stock then the KK could be with better tires and all it's electronic trac control crap. But that's another story. Sorry for the rant, just not happy with the KK's ability vs the KJ. Skid plates are a good investment. Don't forget to lube the bolts before you put them in.
