When I am shopping for a receiver how much of a drop down do I get. I currently only have plans to tow a small trailer on camping trips. Advanced Auto has a special right now. You get a receiver with a 2 1/4" drop down and 2" ball and a locking pin for $29.99. I've looked on ebay and couldn't find a better deal.

Drop/lift is based on tongue height, of trailer. Need to see how level your trailer is when hooked up then decide. Mine all are drops but that's because all my previous vehicles have been full size trucks.
The tongue weight is more important, thats the trailer weight thats "sits" on the ball. Check your balls :-)r to see if they are 200/2000 or 500/5000. I have the 500/5000.
