Post subject:  HEADLAMPS ON WHEN UNLOCKING
When I unlock my 08 liberty, the headlamps turn on for about 1 minute. I have not found any way in the owners manual to turn off that feature. Is it possible to do it ??

Do you have the limited? You can turn them off with the buttons on your steering wheel under the menu in your instrument cluster.

On the Sport models you can't turn off the feature without reprogramming the Computer. But you CAN shut the lights out. Just put the key in and start your Jeep. The lights go out right away.

I have the Sports model. looks like I will have to live with them :cry:

i'm sure the dealer can reprogram that for you for a modest fee...

I've always thought it was kind of strange too. I had the same thing on my Avenger, and you couldn't turn it off either. It was explained to me that it's a safety feature so when you're walking to your Jeep at night the dark street/parking lot/whatever is lit up. I guess that's great for certain people, but I would still like the ability to disable it.
