| Post subject: | KK AM/FM antenna confusion |
This question is for those who have replaced their OEM radio with aftermarket. I purchased thisadapter to convert jeep to motorola for an aftermarket radio. The site specifically mention the KK liberty but I am not getting any reception. A little digging* revealed the KK has an AMPLIFIED antenna. * simply do a search for 'antenna' on the dto.vftis.com. website and there described the color for the amplified feed as well as circuit no. The question is, which adaptor did you use for AM/FM reception with your aftermarket head unit? And did you have to feed +12V to the described wire from dto.vftis.com site? |

I'm having a problem with poor reception too. I'll be watching this thread. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |

its been a few years since ive done mine and my jeep is in the body shop so i cannot verify but... i dont even remember there being an adapter for the antenna (not saying there isnt). there most definitely is a "power antenna" wire coming off the radio that i assumed was for powering an amp or one of those antennas that extends or something. did a little googling found that wire is actually for an antenna amplifier, hooked it up, viola it works. |

Is the antenna amplifier already there, or is it an additional part you needed to buy? |

Already there. I hope you're using a harness adapter instead of just splicing in but the wire is there on the harness. |

OK, so to verify : Connect jeep to Motorola for antenna feed Provide +12v to'amplified antenna' coming from the jeep's radio loom If the above process is correct, I will track down pin number and colour and include in this post as reference. I may be going blind but o had not noticed any threads discussing the amped antenna on the kk. |
