If it is cross threaded you'll need to tap the threads to clean them up.

Yes, it's actually a die,for the bolt - mount. And a tap for the nut. You should do both. So you need to know the thread size and count. Example 1/2-20.
You'd be better of trying to barrow, at the size needed they might be expensive.

I don't think so. Are the treads crossed? You'll never be able to keep it tight if you lose to much metal.

What is the size? If you know it go get a bolt and a nut. Then gently see if they thread correctly in corresponding part. If they both do then your good. If one doesn't then that's the one to fix. So just need one tap/die not both. If both don't then you do need both. Sorry best I can do from internet.

I just was reading on changing water pump. Are you going clock wise or counter clockwise when trying this?

Well I've now read posts that say both. I'm interested now going to look at my KK.
This is one of 3 things I want to do yet.
Hood struts- wanted before I even bought it.
Cabin air filter
Mechanical fan.

It was $55 for a new water pump as opposed to hunting a tap and die kit

Good ! Was the old pump core charge/ exchange or did you keep it?
There is a good write up on water pump install on here or KJ country. Might get some pointers if your in need.

So you can repair the threads and have an extra water pump.
