Ok I am on a idea fishing mission. Here is what I have checked and know. The jeep is a base sport only option is the xm radio. It was a low milage lease turn in. The first winter the heater was weak in comparison to the Dakota I turned in. I figured it being a 3.7 instead 4.7 was the issue and went on. Now it is the cold season again and have almost no heat. The temp gage reads normal . This has been verified by hand hoses are hot. I have opened glove box and took door off . Heater core tubes ,inside the fire wall on both sides . One side is hot. The other is uncomfortably warm. The next thing I checked was I pulled kick panel off driver side and removed servo motor on mode door. Servo motor turns back and forth with the turning of the heat cool dial. I have put a screwdriver in the servo motors slot . And manually moved / turned the shaft. It goes from no heat to a 5 degree increase ,just a slightly noticeable increase in temp. So I am thinking the blend doors are broken or off or something. I can find all kinds of information on KJs and XJs and grand Cherokees but I can't find that much on KKs . Can I get at these blend doors from the front ? Or does the hole air box behind the dash need to come out? And does the AC lines need to be disconnected to get this thing out? |
