Just changed antifreeze my car used to hit 200-205ish. After the change I hit 246 degree coolant.pic only shows 241 but I was bouncing between 244 and 246. Is this normal?ImageImage

Not normal. Has it done this every time you've driven it since the change?
Is there enough coolant in there? Did you use the right kind?

If that's the case, you need to burp the system.

We'll I took it out last night drive about 4 miles city and 1 highway went to bed and woke up the coolant reservoir was empty. So I assume I broke the air bubble. I drove 8 miles today and max temp was 201. I think I got it!

I think the procedure is to do that 4 or 5 times.
Let us know if anything else happens. Good luck.

Keep an eye out for any spots on the ground, but it seems like you've got it figured out.

It helps when ya ask questions politely and provide all of the information possible.
There's enough of us on here daily that we get as much answered as possible. We might butt heads every now and then, but we all want to help each other out and receive help when we need it.

I think it was a general reference, so others would know what info would be helpful to post.

brdkey, you did fine with your post. It's just impossible to answer questions when some post with little to no information. I always make an effort when I have a problem to post everything, and include a picture when necessary. Some people make a post about a problem, and don't report back for weeks/months. :ALONE:
