Is that reservoir supposed to spin like that?? is it sealed or is it open- meaning is my spring doing all the work with no strut pressure??? If I do not have it cranked down like that the front end just drops down and gets no lift. Marlin from jeepin by al said that most people have the springs cranked down between 3 and 4 in. mine are at 3,1/4in. I'm also running 31in tall tire combo..

so i finally found the issue with my jba 4in lift. I talked to Marlin from jeepinbyal and he said that the shocks should have between 180psi and 250psi in each of them. i had to order a gauge that reads that high of a psi..so my front driver side has 110 psi and the front passenger side has 0 psi.
i think i might need some nitrogen added.

Yes, I think if you tell Marlin at Jeepin By Al that the shocks came that way, he would make it right. That is my opinion, at least.

so i spoke with Marlin and he sent me out new front struts.. i finally got a chance to install them and i still get alot of clucking noise from both sides when hitting any bumps.
dose anybody have any pictures of how much their front struts are tightened down ( say 1.5in or 3in from top of threads) i'm trying to get the full 4in lift out of these without any noise?????

I have looked around the forum for any pictures and posts. the only thing i can find is to have the front sit around 21.5in from fender but that will not give me the full 4in lift... I also kind of dont want to have the front end raked..but if this is the way that everyone else has there truck setup than i guess i will have to also.
Thanks for reading and any help, thoughts, comments would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks geoff...

Just crank them down until you get where you wanna be. I would take a pic of mine but I have alot of weight in the front and so mine are cranked down futher to compensate

if i crank them down anymore i get a loud clunking noise.

(4x4kayak2112) are the top 3 rings of the spring on your setup touching each other or is there space between them?? mine the top 3 rings are compressed with no space between, is that how it should look?

Yes they are progressive rate springs. I have CRD springs in mine. Wish they were a little stiffer with all my weight i have on it. I get a clunk even with the JBA coilovers, but im at 4.25" with JBA arms. Didnt happen at 4".

Tell us your setup.

thank you for the picture.... yours look to be cranked down a bit more than mine.

I have jba coilovers with crd springs as well , jba arms, fox shocks with the reservoir, and 31in (ish) tall tires. this is my second set of jba coilovers as the first set came with no nitrogen nor would they hold any.

i will do some more test and tune when i get out of work..

and again thanks for your input...

No problem, like I said my front bumper is 1/4" steel, plus that heavy jba diff, so a little bit more weight than most.

Stupid question, but are there spring isolators on the strut assembly?

Check all of your bushings for cracks. Do you have rubber or poly bushings.

If you have poly bushings lube em up with white lithium greese. Don't lube the rubber bushings.

Crank the strut tower assembly as tight as you can (engine bay wise).

JBA struts don't have isolators, just adjustable upper nuts to keep spring pushed into lower perch. Only bushings would be the lower cobtrol arm clevis mount.
