I have a question for all those who have tackled this. I have a 2011 Liberty, with the same issues. I am getting ready to tackle this. So here's what mine does, awesome cold, i have a temp gauge in vent all the time. No heat, once in a while some heat. I do all the maintenance my self. Put a obdII on a ran around a bit, coolant temp 200 to 210 steady depending on in town or on the highway. I keep reading this over and over and then out on the web. There are many sites that say to change the box out you have to take the hvac down also. What's the consensus on this? Also, on lost jeeps, there was a step by step and swear i saved it, but cant find it, anyone no where that is at? thanks for the help,
Dragon

Hey! Awesome article. Would anyone know of a place I can buy new linkage gears (white plastic part) While taking mine apart for the same issue I found that the reason the gear slipped was that the gear was busted.

Thanks!

Sorry, the actuator is the only part that is available separately. If the gears associated with the box & doors are broken, you need a whole new distribution box. I know that’s not good news. :(

That's ok, ty for the reply! I messed with it so the air is directed toward the cabin and removed the mode actuator. It'll do for now until I can find time to replace the whole housing. Cheers!
