Ok guys. I'm currently in Arkansas on military orders so I'm far from home(NC) I just got my 08 KK worked on at the dealer in NC. Trans fluid changed, new front driveshaft, new brake pads and changed the bearing in my rear diff. Now I notice a loud humming sound and I assumed it to be a wheel bearing. I took it to Midas who said they didn't have a bearing press so Firestone took a look at it. They told me it wasn't a wheel bearing it was likely something in the axle. What could it be? The hum is low pitched and starts around 30 mph. Coming from the rear. It doesn't seem to change with turns.

I'd take it right back to the dealer so they can find their mistake.
Maybe check the rear diff fluid to make sure it actually has (clean) fluid in it.

There's a fill hole plug.
When looking at the rear diff it is easily seen. Gently pry off with a flat head and stick a finger in there to check the fluid. Should be filled pretty close to the top.

If I were you I'd want the original dealer to take a look at it since they may have done something wrong.
Can't say whether or not it's even safe to drive right now.
Have you checked for rocks in the brake rotors?

If the original dealership messed something up, they should fix it with little to no charge.
Check what you can out yourself and go somewhere else for now if need be.
You need to know at least if it's safe to continue driving.
Check out the tires for any uneven wear. Maybe loose lugnuts or something simple like that may be the issue.

Take a look over things yourself first because it's free. Other people charge.
If you take it to a shop. Have them diagnose it for you, and maybe you can wait till you get to the original dealership to have them fix their original mistake hopefully for little or no cost.

Well Midas said wheel bearing but didn't have press machine. They didn't actually look. They just drove. Firestone said something in the axle maybe. Not wheel bearingf

I'd honestly wait to take it to the dealership that did the work on it.
Ya don't hear of wheel bearings fail in the rear of a KK. In fact, I've never heard that happen yet on the forums.

Loosen rear lug nuts.
Lift rear of Jeep up by the rear differential.
Remove lug nuts and wheels.
Visually look for rocks.
Be safe.

I would consider wheel bearings to be a thumping sound, not a hum.
Also do some circles at full lock and listen for noises.
