Just got a tracking number from Linear Logic and my Scangauge is now on its way back to me via priority mail. That was a fast turn around! |

That was a fast turn around! nice! im still looking for oil temp and pressure for the engine. as well as tire pressure. the engine sensors should be easier to find then the Chrysler specific CANSF tpms... |

I'd love to see oil pressure. Oil temperature is alright, it'll probably be similar to water temperature. Keep us updated with what you find. |

Just got my Scangauge back! It's now running the newest version of the firmware. I needed to recalibrate everything, because all of my previous settings got erased. That included the 3.7L V6, 19 gallon tank size, and a 2% calibration for the speedometer because of my larger tires. Everything is now back where it was, except for the fine tuning calibration that will happen after the next couple of fill ups at the pump. The frustrating thing is that TFT does not work. I checked the numbers several times to make sure I typed them in correctly and I did. So, looking back at this thread, it looks like TFT on the Scangauge worked for a 2011 (Bmxer) and a 2012 (PA) KK. Because mine is a 2008, it may be running slightly different software. Has anyone run across the TFT codes for the 08-09-10 KK's? |

I figured out how to get the Transmission Fluid Temp to display. On the 08 KK the ECU needs to be woken up before TFT will display. You may switch the ECU code to another XGauge once TFT displays, but will need the ECU code each time you start the vehicle if you want to monitor TFT. The ECU gauge can be displayed next to TFT or you can cycle through it on a single gauge position before landing on TFT. Either way, the ECU has to get the wake up message before the TFT will display or update itself. Then afterwards, as long as the vehicle is still running, the TFT will update itself normally as you would expect. |

Even better: I read to the end of the JK-Forum thread. There is a new TFT code for the 2008 JK (and KK) that displays transmission temperature without having to wake the ECU up as a separate step. This is what I was hoping to be able to do from the start. Confirmed that it works on my 2008 KK. Quote: I got the following codes from James at ScanGauge for the trans fluid temp on my 2008 JK. The Scangauge speed matches my Garmin GPS and those radar "Your Speed" signs on the highway with a 2% correction factor. I was surprised too. My KK has factory 16's with 30.5 inch 245/75R16's. The stock tires were 29 inch 225/75R16's. |

i guess 1.9% really isn't that big of a difference, but the actual tire increase size is 4% on the scangauge. 2% increase vs 4% probably isn't a huge deal though. glad you got the codes working though! let us know about your start up temps and shutdown temps. |

Setting the Scangauge to 2% or 3% makes it close. Neither is right on, almost like the actual speed is somewhere between them. |

What are you guys averaging for temperatures so far? Im especially interested to see what Gage or another KK with stock tires runs. I just got a transmission dip stick so I'll be checking that eventually. Someone told me I void the warranty when I "break the seal" on the transmission dip stick tube.... I can't see how. |

I've been lazy and not put in the codes yet. Now I feel obligated to see if stock size tires are producing lower temps than you guys with the bigger tires.

Here are some temperatures to report. Mine seem a bit low (considering that graphic I posted with 175 being normal), but I do have that auxiliary mechanical fan that I installed in addition to the regular e-fan. So, I wonder if tow package KK's have lower trans temps than non-tow package KK's. After driving it the last week or so, here's a mental average: In town driving (25-35 mph with occasional stop lights): 120-156 degrees, depending on traffic. I haven't done any downtown city driving with start-stop every block yet. Highway driving (55 mph): 112 degrees Highway driving (70 mph): 116 degrees Most of the highway driving I've done has been flat. No mountains yet. The weather this week was in the 50s and 60s, so I bet the trans temps would be higher if it was a sweltering summer day. I'm running 245/75R16 Duratracs, so 30.5 inch diameter tires. Stock was 225/75R16's at 29 inch diameter. |

Lauren are you taking short drives? I find on short trips my tranny temps don't get past 110-120. This trip I had to NJ I averaged about 170-175. Sitting in traffic it hovered around 177. Engine temps normally run about 195-200. This trip to NJ saw about 200 when running, 210 is in traffic. It would sit at about 205 warm up to 210-211 ish them drop back down to 205-207. I'm assuming that's when the thermostat opens. |

Most drives that involved highway were about 45 mins long, and the in town drives were mostly about 15 mins long. Temps might climb higher if I were in city traffic for longer than that. |
