Post subject:  Heater Core failure question

This weekend my heater core is getting replaced on my 2010 Liberty KK with just over 100,000 miles. I did some searching around and it doesn't seem like this is a common issue at this age/mileage. My wife and I really like this Jeep and have been searching for another, but now I'm leery that this core failure may be common. I know just because one fails not all do, but this is a BIG repair job and I don't want to be doing it again anytime soon.

Are a lot of you guys well over 100,000 on the factory core?

140K on the factory heater core and still going strong...

I do see the occasional heater core flush thread ("no heat on the xxxx side!") but for all the KK's out there I don't think it is a huge percentage. Most of those partially plugged cores don't need replacing, just flushing out. Sorry you were one of the unlucky ones.

Mine went out around 90,000 miles.
