JUST A LATE NIGHT IDEA
Looks like there are several from all over heading to the East Coast Safari for this event so thought I would start this thread

List up
1) where you are starting from,

2) possible routes you will be on

3) When you are leaving your area / state/town

This way others may join you in route. I know from past experiences that any time you have a few lifted 4 WDs running down the road you get lots of looks plus its fun to convoy together

Could even paint the windows "ECS or Bust" or something crazy like that

ROTFL!!!!!

Okay Tom, you JUST beat me to the punch on this!!!!!

1) Leaving from Athens, GA.

2) GA-316W to Atlanta, pick-up I-285N around the Perimeter to I-75 N, I-75N to just shy of Knoxville, and then TN-162/62N to Oak Ridge, where it becomes TN-61 to Oliver Springs.

3) Pre-dawn on Friday, October 9th (class I've got to teach was moved to Thurs afternoon, but this means I can stay Sun night if necessary...).

Going back, I'm thinking of taking US-441 through the Smokey Mtns and the Nantahalla NF since I won't be in a hurry to get back....

CH. 4/19.

Leaving Saint Augustine on the 7th. taking I-95

Making a left turn onto Rt. 25 just past Jekyll Island

Then many different roads!

I will probably be leaving in the late morning on the 7th. Then find a campground somewhere for the night. Leave the campground around 10:00 on the 8th. Driving very slow...around 55 all the time. Trying to save gas!

Terry

Leaving for Nashville on Thursday down I-71 to I-65.

Spending the night in Nashville visiting sister-in-law. Leaving Liz in Nashville with her sister and heading over to Oliver Springs early Friday morning via I-40.

Goal is to be there by 9am so I'll probably leave Nashville around 6:30am.

Was kind of thinking Friday early but hey we'll get there when we get there. I doubt Larry can get more than a day off. Let me think about it

Leaving the Chicago area after work on Thursday, 10/8 - probably about 6pm - and driving the 9+ hours straight through. Will probably get there really, really early in the morning on Friday. Probably between 2 and 3am, eastern time.
Major interstate travel will be:

I-90 out of Chicago --> I-65 in Indiana --> I-64 in Louisville, KY --> I-75 in Lexington, KY --> Lake City, TN area... and then smaller roads after that.

Will take the same route back as well.

I'm going to try to get out the door before 10 from Dunwoody if you're interested in a convoy? (geez, did I just use the word convoy in a sentence?)
