Where is a good place to get some tow straps? How weak is too weak, or even better, what is the best size and length? |

This is a few days old But, Action Truck Caps in Dartmouth. They carry all this stuff, I got my straps at the moncton store dirt cheap. New Drawbar,Clevis,25ft. 20,000lb strap for 50$ out the door. I had a 18,000lb Princess Auto strap blow out at the stitching pulling a YJ out of a ditch. |

I would be cautious of slings and straps for the construction industry. They are made for cranes, lifting, etc. No elasticity. Tow straps have some elasticity so things don't get torn apart & the elasticity helps extractions! |

Beware ObiHann, some places like Princess Auto advertise "recovery straps" for sale but when you pick up the item at the store they're actually "tow straps". Again "tow straps" don't have the elasticity of "recovery straps". The last one I bought was from National 4WD but you should be able to get one from APJ's or Ray Jay's (local shops in your area ObiHann). |
