Hopefully, today marks the end of my endless axle saga. I picked my jeep up today and I have to say it runs and handles better than it ever has. I actually have to apply the brakes to slow down. I can't imagine how much better it'll run when I get around to purchasing a hypertech, it's got some pep now.
Turns out, the noise in the rear was a bad bearing and judging by how much better it runs, they probably never had the preload correct which is most likely why the bearing failed. The noise in front was a wheel bearing thankfully.
IT'S FUN TO DRIVE AGAIN :rockon:

Any thoughts on the twp road trip?

I'll be interested to see what your new gas mileage stats will be, now with the properly installed 4.10's. I have the same size tires as you, but still with stock 3.73's. I took the roof basket off last month and now it feels like I regeared, even though I didn't!

Did a 220 mile highway trip today from State College back to southeastern PA, trying to maximize coasting and driving behind trucks at 55-65 mph. Got 21.2 mpg according to my Scangauge!

Used up just over 1/2 a tank.

Got an alignment today. It's actually fun to drive again. Had to have the dealer remove the rear swaybar links, I just couldn't get the bolts loose. Removed the sway bar until I can get a little cash together for some better and longer links.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the new mileage is also, I just filled up today.

On a side note, never reuse a bearing especially after removing it from the shaft or in my case differential. Once it's removed, it's pretty much garbage even though it seems good, it will fail prematurely. There are very few exceptions to this so beware.

They have east ave torn up so that's the best way to Cleveland Massillon roam from my house right now. Did you move to Norton?

Yes I live on the side road after the pool supply store about 3/4 of the way down. I finally have a garage for the first time in my life but now its been full of stuff since we moved.

I bought a foreclosure so I got a decent deal, but undoing the neglect and such has been quite a job.

I have been driving the sandy brown 05 Liberty (roof lights.. rock rails, moabs and a modified front bumper) You might recognize it next time.

Back up to 13 mpg, mostly city driving and not conservatively. I've never gotten better than 16mpg though That was new and only a couple times.

Hi all, been a while. Life gets busy I guess, not to mentioned they killed my internet time at work :banghead:

and very little time to surf when I get home I night. Still trying to get all our stuff moved and old house cleaned up to sell, rough trying to keep up two houses. I am on vacation this week for the county fair, today was an off day so hopped out here for a few mins.
Still got the wife's KJ, she backed into a tree last week in our side drive which she never has backed down, crushed the plastic bumper corner and busted out the tail light. Going to get my neighbor to pull out the mounting holes since she pushed in the light area a bit, cracked the paint.

So...anyone got a spare pass side tail light assembly?

I will never buy another Ford, stupid Bronco was a "shouldn't have bought it", I'm fixing it more than the KJ :jester:
