Just curious...what role or purpose would a pres/board have? Being relatively new still, It seems most of the organization/discussions I have seen so far have gone the route of general consensus. I'm not opposed to a governing body for LOST Ohio, but curious to see how things would feel w/ a hierarchy of Ohio members instead of everyone being more or less equal.

This is for if we "OHIOIANS" want to do bigger and better things... Going to CLUB events.... going to 4x4 Jamborees... getting shirts/hats etc...

If LOST JEEPS gets bigger.... So does the OHIO CHAPTER.... :D

We need persons with experience/willingness/patience to organize cookouts, lift parties, etc.... just to make it run smoother.. 8)

or

do we not have enough "support/willingness" to do these things....

Who knows!?!?! :? :? :?

With any proper orgainzing effort, there is usually a set of by laws or articles of orgaization of sorts which spells out how the officers are elected and for how long; what the powers/duties of the offficers are; what they're terms are....etc, etc, etc. The list of organizing efforts just starts there and can go on for awhile depending on how serious you want to make it. Not to mention the fact that all these articles have to be voted on and ammended by the masses as the organizing effort proceeds. This is where the "willingness" of people usually withers and dies. Again, I'm not opposed to orgainziation but, usually its a pain in the stupid and sometimes more trouble than its worth.

"If I" have anything to say about it , this will not turn into a overburdened govermental type of agency/program/organization. We do not need that or require it. I have had my fill of such things when I was Executive Director of a Community Action Agency with 46 different programs/ 49 different funding sources and 163 employees. This is not that type of an organization that requires that many rules and regulations
My way of thinking is to have a person who has the final say so to speak, to try and keep things on course and make sure the OHIO LOST group runs smoothly. If someone wants to organze a run then that person can and should be the "go to" person for the run in sitting up times/locations etc with the help of any officers if need be.

That sounds fine by me. That's sort of the role you've already been playing since I've been on the site and it seems to have gone smoothly so far. I'm really not up for a top heavy organization either, I just wasn't sure how serious of an organizing effort that we were talking about. More power to less organization!!!

ThunderbirdJunkie's only concern is that others seem to want LOST Ohio to be taken semi-seriously as an organization.

Do not believe we need bylaws, rules, blah blah.

ThunderbirdJunkie will be happy to take the throne of Emporor of LOST...assuming it doesn't get too plugged up with all kinds of rules...what with school AND work and whatnot.

I think we can have fun and be taken seriously at the same time!

We have been doing a lot together over the past few months and others on LOST are noticing it. Some have contacted me and and have stated that they wished they had the same participation that we do in Ohio. Quite a few of the same ones are always there and can be counted on.
Now some we have only seen once....like ........Tbird???

Hey, do more stuff when ThunderbirdJunkie is off;)

In all seriousness, if there is more notice than a few weeks, We generally have little trouble getting time off.

Unless there's some idiot newbie in the building that needs training

ThunderbirdJunkie expects to be freed up more often here in the near future.

When we goin wheelin next anyway?

I would vote for ME, MUDD, and Mitch..... :D 8)
Just my 25 cents....

Edit:
and my reason is because us 3 go to lots of stuff... have been around for a while... and are spread out in a direct line across the state almost evenly... :D
