Post subject:  Help me find a Liberty---'want to trade my V8 YJ Wrangler

Hello folks. Id really appreciate some help.

I want to change my wheeling style and really want to get another Liberty. I'd like to find one that has had a few mods. I want to trade straight up for my 1995 YJ. I would sell the YJ for $13,000 outright.

Here is what you get:

Stock 1987 Cougar Torque Converter
B&M Shift Kit

Atlas II 3.8 T-case
High Angle Rear driveshaft

Lots more in this thing. I have a binder of receipts for all the new parts. All installed parts have less than 3000 miles. More than $20K invested. This isn't a show Jeep but it is NOT rusted or busted.

I'll get a current shot of the interior soon. Front roll bar installed. Front carpet installed. Sahara seats. Very good condition. No rips or tears.

You could trade it for the #1 KJ in the world. Right here!

That is a sweet rig. When ThunderbirdJunkie saw the title he thought "oh son of a witch, not another SBC swapped rustbucket YJ some dude thinks is worth two new Bentleys"

And now...

Well...ThunderbirdJunkie wants to go pick up an F cam...and trade off his KJ.

That thing is tits.

Interesting side note...that engine is a RUNNER...my last T-bird had a very similar build with an E cam and less compression...the Exploder top end makes for a beastly street-friendly combo, and should be better on gas than the POS I6 that came in the YJ stock.

Careful....no need to make fun of my snorkel====

[notice snorkel mounted on left and ford intake is on right. this is simply a poser mod and deserves its rightful respect]

A:
You can turn that intake around 180 degrees to face the other way. That's the way it's positioned in Panther and MN12 cars. Course then it looks like the MC gets in the way
B:
You could have a snorkel that puts the FUN in FUNCTIONAL

What Lubes are you running?

OK, you've asked for a long story. Build pics are from '06, full pics are from Jan. '09.
Jeep has 125,000 miles. I blew the original engine in '00 with 123,000 miles and then put it in the garage to build my dream Jeep. In the time it took to save the money and build the Jeep, my wife and I have had 2 kids, so....the dream has changed.
The engine was rebuilt before it was installed in the Jeep, so was the transmission and axles. I have no idea what their original miles are as I bought everything used. I do know, and my stack of receipts shows I rebuilt everything with new parts.
Front axle is a 1995 Ford F250
Rear is from a 1975 Ford 150 but customized for full-float and 8 lug
I drove it from Cincy to Indy and got 14.5 mpg running 65 with 37" krawlers. On the way home I drove 75 and got 12.5 mpg.
Tires are MT BAJA claws bias ply with 80% tread and minor cuts. Rims are American Racing with rock rash.
LUBES??? Seriously? Atlas II has torco, Engine runs Castrol, Trans has Pennzoil, and I don't remember what I put in the diffs.
Jeep is SOA with factory leaves. Extra main leaf per pack. Who knows how much lift that is....I just wanted it to clear 37's and it does.
Jeep drove better on the highway with the Krawlers I used to have. The bias Claws are not the best.
I do not have a spare.
I built the bumpers and everything else on this Jeep. (except the tranny. Rusty Bray in Lexington built that)
It is hydraulic assist steering, not full hydraulic.
No rust as I stated previously.
LOL....this is a trail jeep and my adventure toy. I don't own a single music cd, mp3, tape, album or 8-track...so that's all stock. I do have an Optima Red top if that counts.
I have the soft top only.

>>>>>>>The following is not directed at anyone in particular...it is simply my feeling about the person who ends up with my wrangler<<<<<<<<<
My YJ is an awesome built wrangler. It does not compare to a Liberty's street manners. I bought a new '02 Liberty on the fouth of July 2001 that my wife drove for 3 years. These are two completely different types of vehicles. My YJ is an offroad toy. It can be driven on the street, but that is not what it does best. It is not scary or unsafe, but it is NOT comfortable nor vibration free. These bias ply tires stink for street driving. The jeep is tall, it does not handle like my Grand or like the Liberty I used to have. It doesn't have cruise control or air conditioning. It doesn't get great gas mileage, it requires 92 octane or better. It is built from top of the line parts by a former professional Jeep builder. You really need to have an appreciation for the parts listed in my first post to own this Jeep or you will be disappointed. If some of the parts listed don't mean anything to you, then this Jeep probably isn't the right one for you to own.

If that glaring review doesnt make one of you guys jump all over this thing, I don't know what will!
