Post subject:  Jeep Only Road Rally July 12th
Hey everyone,

On july 12th there is a jeep only scenic road rally in northern KY and southern IN, 1996xj and I went on one in March.

There are lots of stream crossings, and according to the organizer, this is their most "challenging off road rally of the year"

1996xj and I are going to this one, hopefully towstrap also.

If youre interested, check out scenicroadrallies.com, you must hurry, this is limited to 50 jeeps, and the cost is 45, it includes a scavenger hunt about the landmarks and items on the rally, and they award prizes to the top 20 finishers.

some of the prizes have been towstraps, flashlights, jeep accessories, and other items that are interesting to Jeepers.

It is well worth the money, it will take about 4 hours to drive 60 miles, much of these roads are on private land, and are not on any map.

I just signed up for this one today after riding along with my brother in a Subaru Road Rally that was set up by the exact same company! I was talking to the woman who owns the company with her husband and she was telling me how much fun this road rally is every year.

I can't wait!

Scott, meeting time????

How about 0715 at the McD's 741 & Kingsridge, we have to be there by 0900.

I know Sperb wanted to meet and mybe head out together...

Map quest say's 1:30 min. drive from kettering so if we leave around 7:00 am Sun morn. we will have plenty of time! If it's alright with everyone else we can meet at McD's 741 Kingsridge across from Dayton mall a little before 7:00 am and head out from there !

I know I will have CB and rokee1998 will also, channel 14 !! :D :D

Well seeing as I am on the list of those who are going I feel the need to add that I am about a half an hour south of the rally starting point so sadly I will not be able to join in on the ride down so I guess I will see you all there. Just promise not to laugh at my still fairly stock KJ... :roll: It is a poor college students work in progress...

Don't worry you will be among older BROKE out of college student's, with slightley modified KJ's !! You will have a blast!!

It's nothing hard at all, just a fun day along some easy trail's and some stream crossing's !! :lol: :lol: :lol:

you will have a blast, be sure to bring a rider, you will need help with the scavenger hunt, and navigation, most of this is not on the gps and the course is laid out to the 1/10th of a mile

Sounds good to me!!! I am going to have a Jeep full. I had some friends find out I was going and they asked me if they could tag along. One of them really wants a Jeep of some kind. The only thing I am making sure I get done before I go is getting a set of tow hooks for the front just in case...

Yeah I am looking forward to having a fun day with some dirt and some stream crossings. I was using this rally as more of an excuse to get the tow hooks which I have been wanting for a while anyways. :lol:

Telly'a what I have a rear Renagade tow hook that I don't need since I bought a rear hitch, if you want it , I'll donate it to you'r jeep cause and bring it to the ralley !! :wink: :wink:

it is well worth the $$$$, once you go to one, you will want to go to another one... hopefully there will be some rain before we go so the streams are up!

Sounds good to me! I would greatly appreciate that if you don't mind donating to my Jeep, it would also appreciate it! :D I will be the one in the Red KJ with Renegade wheels and some random decals on the back window.

Yeah I have a small hand-held Maxxon CB that my father purchased a while back but never really used so it has been passed on.

there is only one pit stop on this rally, so i suggest bringin a cooler with your favorite beverage(s), non-alcholic of course!

Yeah I plan on bringing my cooler as well as my tool box and some other random things that I feel may come in handy.
