Alright, I'm beginning the planning for my KJ build and I'm pretty excited. One thing I plan on doing is buying an ARB bumper and I'd like to get it color matched to the KJ. I know that a few of you have yours matched. Could you tell me where you went for the work and roughly how much it cost? I'm assuming you had the bumper installed prior to the paint job, but please correct me if I'm wrong there. |

I think I would mount the bumper and get it all postioned the way you want it, then pull it off and paint it. That way incase you happen to drop/scratch/ or other wise screw up then you would not hurt the new paint job, Would be hard to paint it afterwards ( mounted ) due to the way it goes under the fenders etc. My 2 cents |

i agree with everything mudd said. i painted mine myself so i'm not much use in that category. If you do not have the equip. to do it yourself you can atleast prep it yourself so it will cut down the time it's in the body shop. but if your going to prep it yourself make sure it's right.. otherwise you'll be paying the body shop to re do what you've already done. |

Yeah, I don't have the equiment to paint it myself and definitely don't have the skills to do so. I'll probably let the shop prep the bumper too. I'm setting aside $600 to have the bumper painted and matched to my KJ. I'm hoping that it's less than that, but if it's more then I'm going to have to reconsider the color matched bumper idea. |
