Used to own and couple of fords with the Flatheads in them. Also worked a a bunch of them for friends and customers, great sounding, easy to work on, just my favorite engine of all time. Classic !!!

And the best part was you could mount them in a Ford Tractor like this one was.
Ready to plow the fields? Open headers, the sound was simply beautiful!

X2!!!!!

I go to hotrod shows all the time and see fords with chevy small blocks in them.....so unoriginal. Its nice to see a flat head where its supposed to be. Only other good engine/car combo would be a 30 ford with a desoto engine.

My dad had a tractor just like that......its long gone now but a great work horse. Great grandpa bought it. That tractor was driven by me, my dad, and his dad.

Nice flat head and tractor too.

My x father in law had a Ford tractor like that except it had a 4cyl in it. I drove it all over the farm. Don't recall any specifics about it but it was a 1950 something I think. Couldn't kill the sucker. Really good tractor. Looking at the hood brings back memories. It is long gone now. I must be getting old...........

I've never had any experience with the Flatheads...probably cause I'm too young unlike the poster of this thread..... :goink: :ROTFL: but they are a neat motor. Strange header design too. Cool too that it's in a tractor, bet that baby can plow a field in a hurry! I saw a guy on some car show, he has a shop out in Cali somewhere I believe, all he works on his the Flatheads, had a huge collection of rebuilders behind his garge. He knew a lot of tricks to getting some decent HP out of the them. I think he was building one for the SoCal hot rod shop for rat rod they were building.

The last one I had was in a 49 Ford, back in 89. Did some little tricks to it and it would do pretty good, surprised a lot of people at lights, ( not that I have ever in my life street raced  )
I'm still trying to find a pair of Evans heads for one. Finders fee for anyone finding some that are reasonable!

Barnesville Ohio, if it still has the same owner its owned by a guy outside of Woodsfield
Now if you know where these two towns are I will be impressed for sure!

I'll be over when you get ready to fire it up.
They are so much fun to work on, sound great as well!
The last one I built had headers and 12 inch glass packs, with Megs tips
another one of those I should never of sold
