Anyone know of someone that has one for sale or a dealership that doesn't want and arm and a leg for one. Like to have (at least) 18 horse/ 48 inch deck at least like to have the ability to run a rototiller on the rear blade on the front |

I have a call into a buddy of mine. He is a old farm boy and comes across riders all the time. I helped him put a v-6 in one a few summers ago for the tractor pulls down in BG as a cruiser to get around then blow up when he was done with it

Tom I know a guy right across the state line that buys sells and collects john deere garden tractors. He's the one that had the original plow setup for my 1966 110. He has a 317 that he thinks is sold. If not he'll let me know. He's alway coming up with good John deere stuff. |

Tom, make sure you are checking CL, deals pop up there all the time. Also check out for sale section on http://www.mytractorforum.com , there are deals on there constantly. If you don't want to sign up and see something you might like, shoot me a PM and I will give the seller your contact info since I'm a member. You want an Old JD uh...junk just kiddin, I'm into old Sears GT's right now. If you can find one of the 400 series i.e. 425,430,445,455, you would have you a very versatile tractor with hydro hookups. Not sure which JD's or Cubs have rear PTO, but most have 3 pts hithces for the rear you can run a stand alone tiller or even a 3 pt single blade plow. I think the 317/318's also have hydro ports on front for blade/snowblower hook ups. If you go into the garden tractor section, then the JD forum on the MTF board, plenty of info to research.

I have had a few Sears over the years all did well for mowing the lawn. Last one I bought my EX brother in law finished it off. He thought the oil needed changed ( although I had just changed it 2 weeks before) so he borrow it, drains the oil and then forgets and starts mowing his lawn Nice 18 horse went to mower heaven and I put a brick through his windshield I'd like the JDs since they do have 3 point hitch and hydro hookups Want a good around mower, tiller, snowplow, tow dead Jeeps, bury bodies etc Plus I can haul it down home and do some extra mowing that needs done two - three times a year I had found "mytractorforum " through a link on another site last night I'll see what I can find there as well I'm on another website just what I needed

Don't know what you're looking to spend Tom but there's an almost new one on CL for $1000 in Point Place. L110, 42" cutting deck, looks like it has the vacuum attachment. |

Never found that one Larry but sounds like one of the newer models you buy at Lowes etc. Not quite what I'm looking for but it maybe what I have to settle for. May just have to find a round fender to rebuild as a toy and use a push mower on the yard |

To bad I just sold my extra round fender a few weeks ago. Good to see you don't want a new jd. The older ones are twice the machine. My 1966 Rf is built like a tank. |

The newer ones are like some of the newer cars, all look the same, cheaply built and no class. Older ones just have the look and feel , I had forgot you had a couple of round fenders. |

I am also looking possibly to buy a package of 3 more Sears SS14,ST12, and ST10. I agree Tom, the box stores stamped out framed lawn tractors have no quality anymore like the old built steel! |
