Hey Tom, what size drill bits did you use to tap the holes for the bolts?

Why ya askin that ole cook! He did nuttin but get the rails dropped on his nugget several times and yell at me to hurry up :jester:
I don't remember but I used something smaller than the 3/8" self tapping bolt (maybe a 5/16" drill bit or there abouts) so that they would bite. Later I tapped the holes and used lock tite which isn't or wasn't needed.

I'll double check the drill bit we used on Buggin's and post up later

Thanks, Looks like the bolts are self tapping but wasn't sure if I should predrill a hole or not.

Haven't made it out to the garage yet but what I do is try and find a bit that will allow you to start a couple of the threads on the self tappers. That way it will start fairly easy but will still have enough metal for the threads to grab good.
I've even drilled a couple of test holes in wood before just to make sure what size I needed.
Make sure you post up some pics when you get done, you'll like them a lot I'm sure.
Also if you don't have someone to help you make sure you have 3 or 4 jack stands and a floor jack to help hold, realign etc
Good luck

You need to drill the holes to 5/16 before running in the self threaders.

just getting around to these now but Iam not happy with the fitment so far. There is a 3" gap between the slider and the pinch weld and they are sticking out too far. Buggins sliders look nice a tucked in there. Mine look like wings. see below

this last picture you can see how far they stick out. Doesn't seem right.

But have to remember we left the plastic on yours so that would make some difference as well Hart. Or I think it would

They look better with the plastic rocker trim on. That is what I did with mine.

Yeah both sets that we have done here on 05-07s we left the plastic on , little harder to install but looks good
I think yours are OK Sport, everything looks OK as far as where you bolt them up etc.
