We test fitted them first, drilled the holes then removed them and some paint was laid on. next day the installation took place.
One problem with them is there front lower mounting hole, it hits right where there is a big existing hole in the frame. You could tilt the whole thing up but that puts the main rail at an angle and doesn't look good. So Buggin made a metal piece to slide back in the frame to attach that bolt to. Worked great and allowed us to mount the rock slider the way it should be

Other than being on an ugly ole jeep Liberty...look good :goink: :ROTFL:
That's the kind I wanted to put on the wife's Libby if we ever got any, I like the kick up of the outer tubes.
Did you bolt through frame or nutzerts?

Self tappers go into the frame
pinch weld gets drilled through and bolts

Looks good! I can't wait until this current monsoon ends so I can get back under the jeep and test fit the rails! My underside looks a little different than yours Hart. What year is your Libby?

Thanks for posting the pics...If I do have the same problem with the original mounting holes, I'll know just what to do.

It should all be the same under your's, mine, Harts, everyones, only difference is after 04 is that stupid plastic moulding that you have to work around that covers the pinch weld.
You would have a somewhat different cross member possibly but thats it.
Also you will have the same problem, that hole is in all of them on both sides, its a hole they use to put everything together while building them, aligns it to the jig.
Guess you could angle them up some like they do but I think they need to change their mounting bracket, make it easier, better and everyone would be happy! :pepper: Looks goofy to me to be angled up as high as you need to go to miss that hole.

Thanks all :pepper: Very easy to install other than what Tom has already noted. The tab that was made is just about 21/4"x11/8" with a offset hole drilled in for the bolt and when the bolt gets screwed into it it acts like a locking tab. We did have them set up there so that the mounting plate/bolt would miss that hole but both Tom and I agreed it didn't look good having the main 3x2 angled and it NEEDED to be level to be able to use the 3x2 to it's fullest when needed. I emailed Eric yesterday about what we had found and made a suggestion to the fix for the mounting plate. Like I said before however VERY happy with how they look, how their built and like Larry said I NEED my springs so I can go out and test everything :JEEPIN:

I think the hole issue my be 05-07 specific. We did not have the issue on the 04' version, but we did not actually fully install them on the 05' we had.

We'll just keep watching for feedback and try to figure out if it's a regular problem.

No complaints out of me as we came up with a great and solid solution :pepper: . The folks that are a tad bit mechanically challenged how ever will have some issue's with it unless they don't care if their rails have a slant to them. I do believe that hole is in all KJ's as it is a hole for the racks to hold the bodies as it cruises down the line, it's on Tom's, his is older and it's on Marlon's which is a KK. Again, I can't say enough how much I love these rails :JEEPIN:

It will be a regular problem as the hole is in the same spot on all of them. Unless you do not mount them level. If you move that plate down some or just make it a little taller or wider you'll take care of the problem. Not everyone will have the tools or know how to modify them to work and bolt up the way we did.
Just trying to help, this is the first set of yours I have helped install on any Jeep but have installed several others manufacturers on various ones including a pair of Boulder Bars and then Rock Lizard on mine.
