I about died Monday...

Monday I went to go to the doctor because I thought I had a sinus infection. Turns out I tested positive for strep throat. I was at Urgent Care in Somerset to see the doctor. They gave me a shot of Rocephin (a type of Penicillin). Not even two minutes after the nurse gave me the injection and told me to sit down; I became very dissy and could barely hold myself up. I yelled for someone to help. One of the nurses came in and asked if I was okay. I told her what I was experencing. She called for help and had me stand up to go lay down on the bed. That's all I remember. I blacked out completely; woke up shaking complusively, sweating really hard and numbness around my face and hands. When I woke up, I had three women from there standing around me. Turns out I had an Anaphylactic Reaction. They gave me a shot form of an Epi-Pen and called for the ambulance to take me to the E.R. at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. I almost died from this. My blood pressure got really low and my pulse was down to 28 beats per minute. I was that close to dying; only 28 beats away from my heart giving out. They kept me overnight Monday and released me a little after 3:30 P.M. today (Tuesday).

Holy doo doo, glad to hear you made it, too close of a call though. I hope you start feeling better.

Thanks Sean. It was nice meeting you.

WOW BW, good thing you were at docs office. Anaphylactic shock is nothing to blink at, it can kill you pretty quick, your lungs/air passages swell to the point no air can move...not a good thing. I was lucky not to have any cases of it when I ran as an EMT.
Have you ever had an allergic reation to Penicillin before? Obviously something in that shot you are deathly allergic to. My dad does the same thing with morophine, they found that out in the 70's when he had a knee operation, actually lost him on the table, but thankfully brought him back.
Glad you are okay.

I have taken Penicillin and its cousins my whole life, growing up. Nothing happen. Now that I'm on allergy shots, if I have any shot at the Dr.'s office I wait 5-10minutes. This is something I really need to see about with my allergy dr. and my family dr. Wish I could have meet you Marty. :?

No one really took pics. We were having too much of a good time.

Tom didn't yell at me but he sured did curse at my rear tail gate when working on it. From where I cut off the bolts. He got the old bolts out so I can get my spare tire back on.

I think I ran off Hart though. He didn't stay very long :ROTFL: :goink:

Yeah I was called short skirt too....

Tom kept asking "Who's that idiot who cut their rear tailgate bolts off?" Hmmmm....
:ROTFL: :-)r

I think he wanted to smack me upside the head for cutting my rear tailgate bolts. :ROTFL:

Next time I come up there (which I will) I want to go out and explore more than what I did. I won't just show up to Tom's house like SOME PEOPLE DO

Thank goodness I know what cornbread means now. :ROTFL: Still learning the jokes

Tom is always showing off, it's in his nature. Especially when doing burnouts.

YES!!!! :ROTFL:

Just like Santa Clause said, "They do exist!"
Except for you it would be, "She does exist!"

I tried to pay Tom for working on my Jeep, but he wouldn't take it. I'm not bring that friend of mine next time. He has a bad back and kept complaining about it the whole time and always had a P.O. look on his face. Shesh, he's hard to figure out. I'll just come by myself next time. I'm a big girl!!!

Glad that you are OK, Sarah. I could have come down the next day but I didn't feel like driving back. I drive too much as is. It's gotten so bad I wimped out tonight and I'm spending the night at my mom's house.

So when the heck are we going to Bundy Hill? How about this weekend? I've got both days off again.
