I made it out to Bill's 491 near Crittenden, KY this weekend. It was a bit too wet to really check the place out fully but I think he said around 300 acres. It's a no frills operation but the land out there is beautiful and Bill himself was a helluva guy. Only spent a couple hrs out there but learned alot about the jeep. I'm not real impressed with the "part time" 4wd in 4hi, felt like the rear just pushed the front wherever it wanted. 4lo worked well even as wet as it was.

Looks like you had a good time at Bills
I hardly ever use 4 high when out on any trails, 4 low or just two wheel it
Can't remember does it have trac loc in the rear?
Been a long time since your Dad was on here and forget what all it has on it

Not sure Tom, Trac Lock has everything to do with which transfer case it has right? I'll check tomorrow and get back to you on that. I would definitely go back to Bill's again, like to see more of what he has to offer.

Trac-Lock is factory the limited slip rear differential.

I took a trip down to Bill's 491 last year around Thanksgiving and I would agree the land is beautiful and Bill is a great guy! We had a blast down there as there was about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground
Here's a pic from our trip

Glad to hear from someone else who has been there. Next time y'all have a group goin' out there let me know and I'll join you. Until my buddy gets his samurai fixed i've been going solo. Did yours come stock with the command trac? Are there markings on the rear diff or do I have to decode the vin?

I will without a doubt let you know the next time we plan a trip down that way.
Command trac is the transfer case there was command trac which just has part time and there is selec-trac which has the full time option. As for the rear diff it was either trac-lock or not. Mine doesn't have it. I believe in some cases there can be a tag on the diff somewhere. A good way to test if not would be to jack up the rear and spin on tire, if the other spins the same way, you've got it. If it spins the opposite way you don't. At least that is what I was told to do. You could also request a build sheet from Jeep and that should tell you if your Jeep has it as well. Great color BTW 8)
