I wouldn't mind my KK being called a KJ. I mean really, a squared off body and a new interior (barely, look at the two interiors to see what I mean, layout, vent locations, etc...)? That's pretty much all they did. Yeah there were other changes, but there's nothing seriously different between the two besides a much stronger front differential.

Tom knows why I wouldn't mind. ;)

 Yes

The answer is simple.

Deep down inside its square body...

It's just a KJ.

BUT a square bodied KJ with a front diff you can run lower gears than 4.10s in, I have to go buy a KK front diff someday just to test what all is different

You should never say "just" a KJ.

It seems that the axle was shifted a little and that may be why the control arms are different.

Yes can't be that much difference since its all the same basically underneath
just have to get one and see if brackets would swap or not, if new ones would be needed if in the KJ the KJ CVs would work or if they are different internally.
OK just a thought, is the intermediate shaft the same or different parts number

I think the KK shafts are a little bigger, the dealer said they're different but didn't know what was different. Napa told me they weren't interchangable too. I still have the shafts from mine but the intermediate and CV shafts are stuck together.

I wonder if there are any similarities between KJ/KK and KL?

There just might be...somewhere... some way...

ONE THING I DO KNOW is that the brake pedal looks very familar. ;)

Here's a KL during final testing after assembly, this is a screenshot of a video from 13ABC.

I'll let you guys guess what I'm looking at. ;)

I had better sell mine and buy a Tracker, Sidekick or Samuria

I actually traded in my '96 Tracker on my Liberty. I bought it new, paid cash, and it was a fairly good ride. It even came with factory skid plates, etc.

Having said that, it was nowhere near the offroad vehicle that my stock Liberty is. I was happy when it made it over the Cleveland potholes.

Ive had 28 trackers, and learned my lesson after liberty number one.

Having finally had the chance to try the Liberty out in the snow, it does better without the 4WD than the Tracker did with it. (And the Tracker was not bad in the snow.) I can't wait for the inevitable 18" plus to get here and really test it out. Might even need to pull that little lever when that happens. :D

The wieght, and traction control ( if equipped) help alot. I will give the liberty the snow driving win

But offroad stock to stock, tracker all day. Even on 265-75-16's i still take a tracker on 225-75-15's farther.

I took my liberty alot of places something broke nearly everytime I beat on it. Trackers not so much.

but I have a differant driving style than most :)
