What's all makes up the 4inch lift vs the regular adjustable coil overs?

2 inch JBA:
Adjust a struts
A arms
Rear JBA springs (2")
Rear shocks
Bump stops (I think)

4 inch JBA:
Adjust a struts
A arms
Rear JBA springs (4")
Rear shocks
Rear adjustable track bar
Bump stops
Brake line extensions
Not sure if it comes with extended rear sway bar links now, but I added these to my older 4 inch lift today.

Thanks for the safe travel wishes. I'll be as far west as Chicago on Thursday, then headed back east next weekend.
Should be interesting with the snow storm we are about to get tomorrow (8-14 inches forecast). I am hunkered down here in MI with my wife's family, ready for the snow. Jeepy likes the snow. :wink:


Awesome. Idk about you, but I'm not a big fan of driving in snow on unfamiliar grounds.
I know I've asked you before, but are you Command or Selec Trac?

Command Trac. I used it for about 60 miles coming back from Detroit on snowy/icy highways last week and there was no binding. I just flip off the switch for those sections of dry highway (which there weren't many).

I have the same. I don't feel comfortable in 2wd in snow on stock tires.
It's very convenient to just flip the switch when you see a nice dry patch.
As with most places in my area, the highway is usually not too bad, but those back roads are always snow covered.

being a gas millage freak, you would do the same with a select trac. I know I do.

Good tires , get rid of those stock junk banana peels and you'll use 4 wheel drive way less
I haven't used 4 wheel drive yet this winter and thats even with 9 inches of snow in the driveway. Of course with the amount of lift I have and the RL rear bumper its nice to just completely cover the hood of a Honda when they pull up to close to ya at a light. The Duratracs throw snow really well :twisted:

LOOOONG story short I had to come to the rescue yesterday. My girlfriend slid off the road. No way for me to help her since the cop got their first. A tow truck had to winch her out. My Jeep was pretty much stuck when I came to a stop on the pavement. It was too icy for the tires. Hopefully that will change when I get some new tires.
Somehow her Honda Civic had ZERO damage, at least so far. Was not a good day at all, but incredibly thankful she and her car were okay.
$1,200 dollars poorer after paying my tuition and Jeep payment today.
Next month is $1,000 for insurance for 6 months.
Iyiyiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. :banghead:

It always warms my heart to see pictures of Jeeps in Mudd's Garage - mine has been the subject of work as well as my transportation to work on others' Jeeps there in Swanton - Mmmm Mmmm Good! 8)

Lauren, glad you accomplished so much. I would LOVE to have JBA's coilovers in my KJ - especially after riding in Tom's. So smooth yet so stable and firm at the same time. Really sophisticated system Marlin has developed.

Bob, thanks for the good wishes! Maybe next time we can get more Jeepers together at Mudd's garage at the same time. How are you liking the new 4.10's? Regearing is my next big project that I'd like to do. Now that you have 4.10's, would you have gone to 4.56's if you had the chance?

Tom, I think I've figured out what we were missing with the brake lines. Check this out: http://robrobinette.com/flare_brake_line.htm If we could have double flared the steel lines on the Jeep side, we could have attached the aftermarket extended brake hoses. It doesn't look like too bad of a job. Of course I'd like to have some practice first on some scrap brake lines before I try it on my own Jeep!

Flaring is no joke. Had a fun time when I had to redo the fuel line on my old car. 5 feet. Bends and kinks very easily.
